T&P's

My Mum got a call early this morning to say my Grandfather was put in hospital and to come down, my aunt then rang back and asked if we could find a flight for my Mum. It's not looking good, so it looks like I will be heading down tomorrow. Any T&P is welcome.

I haven't heard much more yet, Mum rang about an hour ago and was a half hour out of town and was goign straight to the hospital. She had just heard from my aunt who had said Grandfather has now been moved to his own room, but is still listed as cdritical. I don't know much more he got sent to the hospital via ambulance (he called my uncle and my uncle called the ambulance, my Grandfather lives about 40kms out of town) and his BP crashed and they weren't able to get it up at the hospital either.

UPDATE
My Mum rang about 3pm (it'a now 8pm, but I was headed back into town and then home so only getting to update now). Grandfather is still critical and the doctors have said the next 12 hours are critical, if he pulls through them his chances of making it are better, but there is still a high chance right now he won't. I am not going down there yet at this stage just to try and minimise some of the disruption to Ronin, but I can see me needing to go in the near future. I have told work I may need to go at a moments notice, but I am working an hour and a half away all day tomorrow

He made it through the night and the last update is he is a little better, but it could still go either way.

I just got a call (10:30pm here) saying it looks like it won't be long. Grandfather is hallucinating and they believe it will be a matter of hours. I am leaving in the morning, right now I am running around packing a bag for Ronin and I to leave as early as possible. I don't know if I will have internet access while I'm away, ot how long I will be gone for. Right now I should probably get some sleep, thankfully Ronin has decided to sleep for the past hour.

I'm back. Today when I left they were talking possible discharge middle of the week. I hate this. Just an on the fly update right now, Ronin was so good o0ver the weekend, although did scream for a half hour of the drive there, the last half hour when I couldn't find anywhere safe to pull over. We also had to go around trying to find a doctor Friday night because he has another chest infection. Bring on 2 years old when he can be diagnosed with asthma and treated for it, because this is how all of us kids started out and at 2 were officially diagnosed with asthma.

Screaming baby in the car is no fun indeed. Unfortunately, it's nearly a daily occurrence for us. Teagan despises the car after 4pm.

There really should be a better way to diagnose asthma. I'll get my pediatric research cronies working harder on that one. Considering your family history, it shouldn't take so long to convince a doctor that it's asthma. Sad

I'm sorry you're having to deal with him having asthma already. Sad

I have no idea why they won't have an official diagnosis until, but asthma runs on both my side and hubby's side (and on both sides of my family) so he is highly likely to end up with it as well. Oh well only one year and 4 months to go Smile

Do you have an inhaler for him? Even if they cant officially diagnose they must HAVE to treat no??
Asthma is crappy. I have it and it's no fun. Sad
