It looks like we may be going to visit my Mum's family next week for the weekend. Mum will pick Ronin and I up on the way through after work, but it is still a 3-3.5 hour drive. What are some god travelling snacks, keeping in mind it will have to substitute dinner for Ronin and I am at work all day (I am going to see if I can finish early, but there is no gurantee). It will likely substitute dinner because there are few places to buy food from in the towns we will be at by dinner time, and I don't really want to feed him Macdonalds.
cheese and crackers, dry cereal, dried fruit, bananas, muffins, pears, sandwiches.
We can't really do anything cold because we don't have an esky and it's hot, hot, hot here. I have some cereal I bought for snacks, hubby opened it up for breakfast, so Guess I need to buy more
Goldfish, Gerber Puffs. Apple sauce in a pounch. Peanut butter sandwich.
The odd time we go to McDonalds, I get DD a plain hamberger with apple slices and juice.
God gave Joseph his sister Juliet on November 19th, 2010.
They do baby food puches, but he's not a fan of shop bought baby food, he will eat a little and then give up. He's a real food boy.
I've not seen goldfish or gerber puffs here, I don't think we have them
Ronin has never had juice either, but if we get totally stuck McDonalds here does Salads so he can have a salad and water, but he is not a lettuce fan and they are of course heavy on lettuce.
Honestly when we're traveling I make food exceptions for Aiden. He hasn't had McDonald's yet, but he's had plenty of Chick-fil-a chicken nuggets and waffle fries. He's had Sonic tater tots once. I figure it's a treat, he's happy, and I'm less stressed (and therefore happier). I pack snacks for the car, but I do make sure to stop for meals. The only sucky part is that a stop takes longer now than it did 6 months ago or even when DS was a newborn and nursing every 2 hours.
Our first of 3 days of driving to NC will be a 9 hour drive normally, but we're planning on it taking 12 hours.
We won't stop, we will just do drive through and seriously all they have is McDonalds, these are tiny towns we are talking about, only 1 of the three towns we go through only one has anything drive through that will be open, the others are petrol stations and cafe's and the cafes would be closed.
Will he eat egg? Maybe some hard boiled egg. Those would keep for a while in the car and be filling too.
I was thinking mostly what was already mentioned like fruit, muffins, sandwich, waffle, cereal, crackers.
