Sounds like she might. Neither of mine have had a UTI but it does sound like she's in pain when she goes. I'd take her to the docs to get her checked. And your going to be asked for a wee sample...just to give you a heads up on trying to get one![]()
I know Kristi said her older DD was tested for it once. It's NOT easy since they usually insist on using a catheter to get he urine sample.
When DS was seen for his unexplained fever (which ended up being roseola), they offered to test for a UTI if I really wanted to (I declined). Often with young kids there are no symptoms other than a fever, so it's hard to know if UTI is a cause of the fever or not until exhausting other possibilities first and then getting the urine sample.
ETA: Apparently she replied while I was typing.![]()

Being catheterized doesnt hurt, but I'm sure it will be nearly impossible to hold down a little one to do one!!! Sounds like it could be a uti though. Siimon always grabs at his bits when his diaper is off though, so i dont iknow that that is a for sure sign or just a developmental thing.
Maybe you can convince them to try to get the sample yourself like you said. I think that would probably be easier than the catheter route. Simon had one when he was a few months old, so it wasnt that bad since he couldnt move much. He hated being held down though, but you could tell it wasnt the catheter that really bothered him.
Teagan grabs at her bits all the time but this is a different kind of grabbing. Its the kind of grabbing I might do if I had a UTI and had no shame, IYKWIM. I have a large supply of sterile tubes in my lab that I could use to catch some pee. My sterile technique is also pretty awesome, if I must say so myself, so I think I could handle it. I'm kind of expecting an ear infection on the tail end of this cold though. So, perhaps testing won't be necessary because she'll just end up on antibiotics for the ear infection.
Yikes. I think its hard to tell being mothers. I know that in order for them to tell they have to do a catheter.. Might be easier just to treat it. Maybe start some home remedies..![]()

Thanks for the heads up, Mona.
If I could get that girl to guzzle cranberry juice, I would! If I could get that girl to guzzle/eat anything I'd be over the moon.
