You girls sound too motivated! I'm looking at tractors and drinking beer
Sounds like fun!
I'm watching the old Parent Trap. It's on the Hallmark channel.
I'm watching Extreme Towns on the travel channel. My kid is refusing to nap today. She did 20 minutes this morning and then another 20 this afternoon. She looks tired, but won't go to sleep. Mommy is tired.
the fashion outlet mall in niagara falls. i think it's called that?
Cool! I live about 1 1/2 hours east of that.. Would be cool if I could talk dh into taking a trip!! lol
So when is it my nap time?! lol.
Look at these shoes!http://www.dezeen.com/2010/09/17/hakes-shoes-ss11-by-julian-hakes/
Trying to get Ronin to sleep some more. Wonder what my chaces are
Well, definitely a great goal! I feel like I take two steps forward, 1.5 steps back.
He barely napped yesterday, wouldn't sleep last night, Mummy is exhausted
BTDT myself. And it SUCKS.
Wow 10 past 7 and we have our first tantrum, thats arecord. Doesn't bode well for the day ahead though.
Aiden woke at 6, 7, and 8:30. From 6-6:30 he screamed. Then screamed again at 7am. Loads of fun.
Oh this was a full blown tantrum he found a mop that hubby left in the hall near the bathroom and toilet which he needs to throw out but the bin was full. Ronin was playing with it and screamed when I was tring to take it off him. Now he is having a feed and pinching me
Oooo those are the fun ones. Aiden pitched a fit this morning when I wouldn't let him play in the toilet. You would have thought the world was coming to an end. He's been a lot better now that he's had a nap thankfully.
Stupid computer, shut down on me and took forever to get started again.
I swear there are some days whent he neighbours must think I abuse Ronin from the tantrums he throws when getting his nappy changed and getting dressed
I doubt that. Remember he won't continue the fits forever!
I know that, it's just the intensity of the tantrum, he screams so much. I know the neighbours either can't hear him or know it's just normal baby. We are in for many more tantrums today because he has a runny nose and the sneezes, so a tantrum every nose wipe.
Positive OPK today. And my husband will be gone for another 24 hours at least. Figures!
That sucks Jackie, I'd try anyway, you never know your luck, it only takes one to get through.
There is still hope from the other night!
we only get tantrums here when he is tired. I wouldn't even really call it one, he only fusses or gets upset for a minute.
Hooray Ronin is down for a nap, I wonder how long it will last. He was so tired. I even skipped getting the things I need to do uptown done to get him down early.
Thursday night wasn't exactly a prime BDing position.
So I'll attack him as soon as Aiden's down tomorrow night. And hope that that's good enough.
Answer to the above question, about 5 minutes
Hope he sleeps for you!
I just put Aiden down for the night. Or more likely, down for 30 minutes.
I swear I have no idea how he runs on so little sleep. I can see him dropping naps entirly early.
Aiden is down to just one nap. He went down really fast too. One day he did 2 two hour naps, the next day 1 one hour nap. Now he does 1 hour, 2 if I'm really lucky. It wouldn't be so bad if these kids slept at night!!! lol. Maybe the next will be a sleeper?
Ronin will sometimes have one long nap, sometimes a series of short cat naps.
In hope the next one will be a sleeper too.
I don't think I could handle 2 non sleepers very well. Not long term!
I hate when they go for appointments and they tell you they should be sleeping for x amount of hours, I feel like telling them to come round here and try to get him to sleep if he doens't want to, it's impossible.
I avoid those questions by lying at the first one saying he sleeps great. I know there's nothing medically going on with him, so I'd rather just skip what I feel are parenting questions with the non parent pedi.
I have a feeling they will start discussing sending us to sleep school if not this appointment his 18 months. I really don't have the time or money to go out of town for 3 days. Sure the program is free, the flights , food and getting hubby around aren't though.
I always say I am going to lie, but I am too damn honest and can't do it once I get there
I don't think that's necessary unless there's something gonig on. Some kids just aren't big sleepers.
I have little confidence in most of the medical professionals here, so it doesn't bother me at all. If I was actually concerned about something, I'd ask for a referral to San Antonio.
Ahh now he is sitting in his walker smashing a cracker to bits. He's happy though.
that is stupid that sleeping a certain amount of hours would be a requirement unless it was something serious. Lucas' ped never asks about his sleeping, but if she said something like that and I was having problems i would lie.
lol. As long as he's happy!
So my weird child loves sweet potato fries and veggie burgers but refuses to eat cheese tortellini and cheese quesadillas. So he just had fruit for dinner and cooked tomatoes b/c he refused everything else I offered him!
I am well aware that the child health nurses do tend to try and scare parents, not intentionally but a lot seem to have quite an old view of how babies should grow and routines. I see it all the time with work, we actually had one child health nurse in a remote community tell parents that the reasons their children had nappy rash was because they didn't use huggies nappies and they had to start using them. The cheapest homebrand nappies in those communities were $30-$40 a packet, huggies were closer to $60 a packet and they just could not afford that. Really the kids needed to be changed more often, but even the $30/$40 nappies were stretching it so they left them on longer than they should have.
I am having minestone for dinner so Ronin will probably get frozen veggies.
Wow! That's expensive and ridiculous!
I'm the mean old Mum who gave him a raspberry yesterday at the supermarket and it must have been a bit tart, but I kept offering it. He ate the entire thing after that initial reaction.
huggies were closer to $60 a packet and they just could not afford that.
 Australia sounds expensive!!! The most i have seen huggies here are $34 and thats for like 136 diapers. I refuse to pay that much and don't pay more then $20 for a big box. If none are on sale i buy a small package for $16. Diapers are almost always on sale somewhere though!
Yeah, Aiden tasted them but spit them back out. I kept praising him for tasting and he'd do it again and spit it back out. Oh well. lol.
Oh, I give Aiden lemons.
That was in a remote community where all groceries were sold through an independant store and had to come in on either chartered flights or barge (depending on the community and the time of year)
Huggies are about $30 ish a box here, no idea how many nappies n them though, the only thing I really get in that section is nappy liners which are down with the home brand nappies. When I do need disposables I just buy whatever is the cheapest.
