Default Wont leave his diaper on!!!

    Hey ladies

Simon has recently not been wanting to keep his diaper on!! ERG!! So annoying. He doesnt freak during diaper changes (normally, you know how they all get their moods) and doesnt have a rash or anything, but he is constantly tearing off his diaper!!! And sometimes he even pees on the floor after he pulls it off! You may say this is a sign of wanting to potty train, but we bought a potty and he's scared of it. I keep it out so he can get used to it, and he'll carry it around, but wont sit on it or give any indication that he even knows what it is for. Im starting to think one of those seats that go over the toilet may be better since he see's me on it, and I tell him I'm peeing, etc.

Do you think this is a potty training sign or just him being a PITA!? LOL!!

It may be both. Lot's of kids pull their nappies off. I have been told put it on backwards or buy some training pants/ jocks to put over it, you'll use them when TT anyway

Does he take it off even with clothes on? He is probably just bored and likes the air..

My son has a renewed interest in his stuff right now. If his diaper is velcro he'll try to take it off unless he's got a onesie on. Luckily most of his diapers are snaps and he leaves those alone. Only then he reaches in the leg hole to play with himself that way.

I think taking diapers off can be a phase that a lot of toddlers go through. It's a new trick as far as they're concerned. I know for some it's a sign towards potty training, but I think they're normally taking it off as soon as it's soiled or taking it off right before they go.

Maybe his potty chair is uncomfortable to him in some way? Worth trying a seat on the big toilet - gotta go in that direction eventually anyway!

well, you know when you said he likes being naked? i think he is taking it literally

jk, i think maybe he just likes pulling it off because it is something new he learned and it's fun? Almost like pressing buttons or opening and closing things.

or it could be a potty thing :P

I don't have any more advice for the diaper, other than what was said above.

I've been taking DD potty since she is 4 months old. Over the past month or so, she has started to refuse to sit on her potty. She won't sit down on it, and cries. I think it is a stage, where they are trying to asert themselves. It is a PITA

    Two words. Duct tape.

But seriously. I don't think its a potty training sign. I think its just a game they play. Kids play bizarre games. Like today, Teagan put a bowl on the floor and tried to pee in it. She missed. She will rip off her diaper if its velcro so we stick to snaps unless she's got pants on that she can't take off.

If he's refusing to sit on the potty don't push it. You don't want it to become something you fight over. Like Louise, I've been putting Teagan on the potty for a long time. She has her phases and I don't push it. I don't see a point in making it harder on both of us by forcing the issue.

He even sort of tries when he has clothes on, but not as successful/persistent. I'm wondering if they are not fitting him as well and are uncomfortable too maybe? He's just sooooooo big! He's already in 6s. Are there any bigger diapers without going to those overnight pullup things???
