Oh, Kristi, I'm sorry. That's so frustrating! I definitely think none of it sounds like anything that can't be dealt with through lots of training and time, but...man. Who has THAT? Maybe people with no kids. Frankly I'm feeling pretty done with dogs myself at this point and ours are only turning 7 and 6 so I probably need to get over that. But I do feel your pain!
I think mostly a good place to start would be to work on crate training her so that she thinks of it as a happy safe space and not something to be fought. I never did that myself but I know it's a pretty solid theory and there are lots of resources on crate training. That way you could at least minimize damage to your property, your psyche, and hers too.
And boy do I hate it when DHs don't handle simple frustrations well. I mean come on. YOU'RE ONLY MAKING IT WORSE.
In much happier news, Addy wrote some pretty decent A-looking shapes tonight and said "That's my NAME!!!" I thought that was kind of awesome.
Sorry about the dog Kristi! I have no advice, never really had a dog, but sure sound frusterating.
Leigh that is awesome she is making As!! Simon is getting pretty good at shapes when colouring though mostly it's just a big mess. He can make circles and lines and triangles and sort of stars! I posted a pic awhile back of his drawing of what he said was a "pane" (his word for plane) and it was pretty good!! I was amazed! You could see the nose of the plane and a wing! He's obsessed with planes lately. Anytime we hear any engine, he yells "PANE!" LOL!!!
Totaly weird question Anna...."personal information"? Yes, why the quotations??
I know, we just need to work on training. But it does take time and energy we just don't have. I do plan to enroll her in doggie obedience classes, if I can find some affordable ones nearby. She has so much potential, if she would just NOT EAT MY HOUSE in the meantime, it would make it a lot more tolerable. I read online that there is such a thing as doggie anti-anxiety meds, and I may call the vet about that.
And Addy is beyond awesome. I cannot believe her comprehension!
Double post! This site finds new ways to trick me into doing this!
That's awesome, Mona! Adair is just--and I mean JUST, like in the last 3 or 4 days--starting to actually really try to draw things rather than just scribble colors. It is so cool to watch her developing a new skill like that! She isn't making much very recognizable yet, but she's working on it and I don't think it will be long, now that she's interested and trying.
Yeah...eating my house would be a major freakout point for me too. One of our dogs kind of semiruined our leather sofa (the zipper split because she was nesting on it and she ripped out a bunch of foam) and I was SO PISSED. It's a really nice sofa we got handed down from MIL and no way could we afford to replace it with something even close to the same quality. Fortunately I was able to wrestle the zipper back together and stuff the foam back in and you can't really tell, but I've been putting stools and laundry baskets on the sofa when we leave so she doesn't get up there (they're never allowed on furniture but she gets up the minute we leave the house. I even caught her once when I came out from taking a nap and she must have forgotten I was in the house. Grrrr.)

Oh and yeah--the "personal information" thing is creepy. I know some people terribly abuse quotation marks, but I can't see any reason for them there except for legal wiggle room.
So didn't need to worry about the test, Once I dropped Ronin at day care I just went oh well I'll go straight to work and ghet a test later. Got to work and needed to pee and af had started. So yeah the universe hates me and wanted me to think I was pregnant to rub my face in it. Not in a great mood tonight obviously
Thanks, had a good cry earlier, will probably have another when I go to bed.
