The 'Zoe come on already!' Chat 31!!

Really Zoe, how much longer are you going to make your mom wait?

Here is what was going on in the old thread.

Well, we did it. We put the dog down today. DH and I have been much more upset than I anticipated, and DD1 took it better than anticipated (Lainey doesn't understand). Sigh. I love having a dog, but this part of pet ownership sucks.

Jackie, , , ?

Someone dirtied up my kitchen. I had it fairly cleaned up in there but now there's a pile of dirty dishes and I think the maid ran away. I'm not sure how those are supposed to get cleaned up now.

Does anyone watch "Doomsday Preppers"? Are any of y'all preppers? Sorry that's so random, but we're watching it right now and it made me curious.

We just had the one dog. I thought we'd wait a few months before we got a new one, but I think for the sake of the kids we'll probably jump right into looking for a new dog. Today it's starting to sink in more for them. Lainey keeps asking where Riley is, where his bed is, etc. and Claire has been singing songs about how she wants Riley to come back, and can't we just have one more day with him? Which breaks my heart. I know death is a part of life, but there's really no reason we can't start looking for a new dog. I'm surprised they miss him as much as they do, he hasn't been an active member of the family since he got sick 2 years ago. He's just kind of been a shell of a dog since then. But I miss him, too.

And I haven't seen the preppers show, but I'm sure we're not. I have extra paper towels, toilet paper, and water stored in the basement, but not much. And I have candles and a crank powered radio and flashlight. That's the extent of our preparations.

I'm currently grumpy thinking I'm going to be pregnant forever and I'm going to end up with a RCS. Blum 3 I know I've got lots of time for her to come on her own still, but c'mon little girl!!! I'm really just tired of itching all the time. I woke up 6 times last night to put on more itch cream and it just isn't helping much. My stomach was looking better, but now it's getting the darker red rash again and more bumps are popping up.

:grouphug: Kristi, I'm sorry, I can't imagine how hard that must be, even though it was necessary.

We aren't preppers either. Whenever I hear about natural disasters, I always think I should at least put together a basic emergency kit with extra water, batteries, candles, etc. but I never remember to actually do it.

Seriously, what is she waiting for? Does she WANT to be a Thanksgiving day baby? Okay, I know I have no right to be impatient, since I'm not the one who's pregnant and birthing this one, but I feel invested in this birth and I'm excited to 'meet' her.

So if we count sleeping from 8pm to 5am (even after a hour and a half nap on the way home from 5-6:30) then Ronin STTN for the fourth time this week. I'll take my mother of the year trophy too because when he woke up he was hyseterical at the door, I hadn't heard him so he had either had a night mare or had been calling out for awhile

Don't stress too much about his not so great wake up. But definitely celebrate the STTN part (cause that totally counts)!!!

Downward pressure changed this afternoon. More back feeling. Feels more weighty. I'm taking this as a good sign! Maybe I won't be pregnant forever. Wink

Kristi I'm so sorry to hear about your doggy. I hope you all can find peace. Praying for you.

Whoa Ronin on STTN!! Yay!!

Zoe, anytime now would be great. Jackie I hope your itching goes away quickly after she's born.
Justine- How are you doing?

We've never watched the preppers show. (Please don't get my hubby started on another reality show) but we wouldn't last long. We have nothing stored up.
I think we're coming up on a new bedtime routine. Usually, I hold Madison while she goes to sleep and then I take her and put her in her crib. The last 4 nights she's not wanted to fall asleep with me holding her so DH has put her in bed and she's cried at the most 5 mins and then she's out all night. I kind of like it Smile

Well the humidity has found us here, it's so hot today. Took Ronin to kindy gym this morning and had a great workout as him and half the other kids had me playing dinosaur with them.

Hubby is super excited about another baby, I showed him the car seat I want to get and he told me to buy it there and then, I didn't but at least he is on board for a $300 car seat

that sounds like a sweet routine Molly! Lucas is at that right now, though he has an occasional night where he wants to be held. I would feel better if he didn't cry though, he used to just roll over and go to sleep or talk to himself for a bit.

Jackie, yay!!! i hope this means something is happening

I know holding her isn't the best of ideas but she'll get to a point sometime where she won't want Mommy to hold her, so I take all the minutes I can get.
IT was nice here today Wendy. But it'll be snowing here before we know it.

I see you've all given up on me getting my IUD out. That's alright. So have I. I'm not getting my hopes up until after DH takes and PASSES his stupid fracking exam, which might be January. Or February. That might as well be never as far as my hormones are concerned.

Yay for pressure change Jackie! I'm sure its a good sign!

Wendy that's great that your DH is so excited about another baby. You have more will-power than me not to jump on buying the carseat right now if DH is on board with it. Whenever I can convince my DH to buy a big-ticket item, I have finished paying before the "yes" completely leaves his mouth, lest he change his mind, lol!

Sounds like a nice new sleep routine Molly! I know what you mean about holding them though. I still rock Isabelle at bedtime while she drinks her bedtime bottle (we're probably the only ones left still doing a bottle, but I figure it can't do too much damage to her teeth since she only has it while she's drinking her milk and doesn't run around day and night with it hanging from her mouth). She doesn't fall asleep while I rock her anymore though, I always just put her in her crib when she's done drinking and she goes to sleep. I will miss it when we move past the rocking stage.

I had a horrible migraine last night which I can still feel the remnants of tonight. I slept on the couch because I couldn't get comfortable in bed last night between my head and my preggo belly. Broke down and took a couple tylenol today. And of course Isabelle was being naughty on purpose this morning when I just wanted to lie on the couch and be as still as possible-if I told her not to do something, she would intentionally go and do it, little stinker. I finally gave up trying to rest and took her to the park and library. She took a nap after that and was pretty good all evening-the new books kept her entertained and out of trouble. Seriously hope I feel back to normal tomorrow cause I have to work on reports at work which involves a lot of data entry on spreadsheets and I can't see myself doing that with a migraine. At least its only a three day week with the upcoming holiday, yay!

Ditto this! Sorry about the migraine, I get those sometimes, fortunately not nearly as frequently anymore as I used to.

Jackie, I'm all excited now thinking that labor is imminent! Come on baby Zoe!!!

We went and priced washers and dryers and refrigerators today. I'm mixed on the washer we should get. I thought a top loader was a top loader, but it turns out that washing machine technology has advanced and now they have mostly top loaders that are HE and use just a tiny amount of water. So now I don't know if I want one of those or not. Part of me really wants the new, fancy, energy efficient washing machine, but another part of me wants to go with what I know works and that is a regular traditional top loader.

I am lucky with hubby, he won't change his mind, and if I ever get pregnant again he is so convinced it will be a girl i can pretty much gurantee a yes on anythign I want to buy, and an even bigger yes if baby is a girl once born.

9kg is like 20lbs? Well, that's better than nothing at least for RFing considering how strange y'alls carseat laws and "safety" is there. But yay for him being on board for new baby stuff!!! Biggrin

I chose Wednesday on the poll but I hope you're all right and I'm wrong!!

Migraines are the worst--I know I've mentioned this recently but I had them all through my pregnancy (I normally get them with AF, every 2 or 3 months) and it was awful. After one over the holidays at 14 weeks that lasted for five days, I broke down and called my doctor in tears and she told me to take Excedrin Migraine immediately and not to worry about it for one more second. I took a half dose with a cup of coffee and it actually worked, so that's what I did from then on whenever they'd pop up, and I never suffered for more than a couple of hours again. I read a study recently that said there's something unique about the combo of aspirin/acetaminophen/caffeine that is MUCH more powerful against migraines than any of those alone. You should definitely ask your doctor first, of course, but if this keeps happening, know that it can be fine to take that.

We had a totally awesome weekend, and I am so excited for Thanksgiving! Super busy/important week to get through first, but it's only 3 days, so I'm already mentally skipping ahead to Thursday. Wink

I'm so thankful for living near family. Yes sometimes it can be a mega pain in the butt, but other times it's the best thing EVER. Addy got to play with her cousins both Friday and Sunday this weekend (she is old enough now to be able to REALLY play with them, and each time it was over, she would cry for the next several hours "I'm so SAD! I miss my cousins!!!" Awwww...), and she went to my mom's while we went out for my SIL's birthday on Saturday night. A fantastic time was had by all. I can't wait until these girls are big enough for sleepovers.

That's good to know about the migraine medicine, I will definitely ask if I get more of these between now and my next appointment. Tylenol doesn't really do much of anything. My head feels better today, but I can feel the pressure lurking just below the surface and I am just really nauseous. I had better be feeling well by Thanksgiving, I want to be able to enjoy the big meal!

That's so sweet that Adair likes playing with her cousins so much and so nice to be close to them. My mom and sister always made a point to get together for a week or longer every summer or Christmas when I was growing up, so me and my siblings are really close to my cousins. We had so much fun playing together and would look forward to seeing eachother again between every visit.

That was me too--I only ever saw my closest cousin at Christmas, but we played like CRAZY the whole visit every year and I loved and anticipated seeing her so much! Those are some of my best childhood memories.

We had them over to our house on Friday and it was awesome because they pulled out all these toys that Addy never plays with (they're 3, 5, and 7 so they're into dressup and elaborate imaginary games) and Addy was right in there with them like "Oh, THAT'S how you play with this stuff! Cool!" It was really cute, and she was actually playing much more independently the whole rest of the weekend after that, too.

My SIL plans to come get Aiden no matter the time of day or night. She'll have less of a drive at night than if I went into labor during the day due to her working at the marine base out there. If for some reason we feel the need to leave ASAP, she'll just have to get him from the hospital. We do have a backup here too but they're a bit out of the way. Not really worried about it since if worst comes to worst he'll stay with us until she gets him. And if labor is really that seriously intense I'd rather stay home than have Zoe in my car on the way there. Wink

I've heard that for migraines. The only way I've been able to get rid of pregnancy headaches has been by tylenol and a full can of soda. But I haven't been suffering migraines this time. I did have a couple with Aiden. Sad

And that's really sweet about her missing her cousins. One of the reasons why I really wanted to stay here is for Aiden to get to spend time with his two cousins that live here (5 & 10). He has 3 more out in Colorado (26, 11, and 6) that I doubt if he'll ever really know though. My poor kids will never have cousins near their ages unless for some reason I'm still having kids when my sister finally gets around to them in 10 years (doubtful).

I did have cousins all around my age and although I only ever saw them 2-3 times a year, we always picked up where we left off and had a blast together. My closest cousin is now a doctor (he's in his residency) and refuses to talk to any of us anymore though.

Oh so my 3cm sorority sister? She went into labor naturally last night and I think had him about an hour ago (I don't expect her husband to answer me straight up just yet lol)! I'm really excited for her! Though part of me can't help but look at my belly going "Really Zoe?! This boy's EDD isn't even here yet! Can you take a clue?" Lol 9 days till 42 weeks, so she's got plenty of time still at least.

I grew up close to 2 of my cousins and my niece (we're 9mo apart). The 4 of us stayed with our Aunt & Gma a lot together. Good memories. Madison has 2 cousins on each side close to her age one she sees everyday at daycare and the other about 4-5 times a year.

I am almost confident enough to call it, I think I may have a child who STTN. He did it again, from about 8:30 to just before six. There is no point me even bothering to try and put him down earlier, even yesterday he didn't nap so was tired and when I tried earlier because he was acting tired it was a no go, eight thirty he was out in about 10 minutes

You know what 's awesome? Spending all night preparing for a hearing, and then as you are ironing your shirt, the court calls and tells you it's going to be rescheduled for two weeks later. Seriously. It was canceled about fifteen minutes before I had to leave to go to it. I spoke with the other attorney, and he was already at the courthouse when he got the call. So frustrating!

I'm trying to bribe Rowan to poop on the potty, but it isn't working. She always knows when she needs to go, since she begs for a clean diaper to poop in, and she flips out if anything is in the way of her private little corner that she likes to crouch in. Yesterday, mid-poop, she announced that she needed a cage, then brought a stool over to block the entrance to her corner (the corner, by the way, is behind a chair and right next to the couch, where there is a lamp she likes to hold for leverage).

Wendy, congrats on getting Ronin to STTN!!!!!!

Ack! Sara! You need the book we're using! She has answers for all of that. As awful as it sounds, most of that is actually awesome--she's so close, you just have to help her get that final piece. Have you put her potty in that corner? No go?

That court business sounds INSANELY frustrating.

Congrats on Ronin STTN, Wendy! That's huge!

Sara, Argh. How can they cancel that **** on you like that? I hope you still get paid if it was the client's fault. I know you've probably tried putting her potty in her poop corner but have you tried putting her in the bathroom with the potty when she makes it known she wants to poop? When Teagan poops, she requires complete privacy. She sits on the big potty in the bathroom, asks for reading material, and then tells us to GO AWAY. She takes a good 20 minutes in there ... which is weird because she can poop in 30 seconds flat in her poop corner at school. I don't know what her problem is at school lately. We're trying! Hopefully the long weekend will knock something into place.

I spent all day writing a fellowship proposal instead of studying. I better get this damn thing, seriously. Oh well. Off to pick up the monster! I sure hope she didn't poop at school.

I am destined to NEVER get another picture of my kids with Santa. I think I may just give up. I tried 3 times with Lyla last year and she lost her mind every time. I just went and thought it was going to work but as soon as the kids were on Santa's knee the both went nuts and started bawling! It makes me sad that I can't have a cute Santa picture.

Apparently, the judge is out sick today. I don't know why they didn't notify us earlier this morning though.

We did put her potty in the poop corner. And she cried and cried and freaked out and dragged it away saying "No no no no no!" She does like her privacy, and tells me to go away when she's peeing. It's just she won't poop on the potty.

Anna, I think pics of kids crying on Santa's lap are cute.

Santa pictures are overrated. Wink Aiden is intimidated by the fake blow up Santa at Lowe's, so I'm not so sure how real Santa will go. There's a free one coming Dec 3rd to the base that I want him to go to. Maybe it'll be our practice Santa before I spend money on the mall one. And if he freaks out, maybe I'll just have a Zoe with Santa picture and move on with life.

Erin, I can't believe that T wants privacy and reading material!! And stays in there so long!! Lol

Anna, I am sure Simon will melt down at Santa again this year too. Makes me sad because I want a good picture!!! At least the baby wont mind! Lol

YAY that Ronin is sttn!!!! I'd be a wreck if Simon wasnt!!!

Simon always has his places he goes off to poop in private, but doesnt seem to care if you come in the room. But he always and I mean ALWAYS poops when we play upstairs in his room. Even if he just went, he'll force out a turd I swear!!

So I was so disappointed at my chiropractor today. I started seeing her over the man I used to see to see if she could help more with the SPD, which she has, since she gets "all in there" which I cannot blame that male chiro for not doing. Hello lawsuit?!?! Lol But anyways I was telling her about how my OB was talking about inducing at 38 weeks and how I think it's not needed if she is thinking it's due to baby's size, etc. And she was agreeing with the OB!! "well if the baby is big they are ready to come out!!" Reallly! OMG!!! I told her the scans are so not accurate and they were off by a pound with Simon. And then she started talking about a csection like that would be no big deal, etc. WTF?!?! I'm thinking of going back to the male chiro I used to see since he was very for natural/noninduced births. He just wouldnt get all up in my crotch! Lol Which at this point I think does nothing. It's my other side that is tight anyways and not in the pelvis but hip which had can work on.

Sorry for the mini rant. How do I explain to him why he hasnt seen me the entire pregn though?!?!?

I'm with Sara. I kind of think I'd be disappointed if Adair's first few pictures WEREN'T of her freaking out. Isn't it, like, required? She did not disappoint us last year, btw.

Adair doesn't give a crap (haha) about pooping in front of people. There's like an entire chapter in my book on how most kids are either afraid of the potty or want privacy and all their resistance stems from those two things. Mine is so WHATEVER! about it all, THAT is her problem. There's a group phone PT counseling session happening with the lady who wrote the book on Dec 7 at 6pm but I can't do it--I'm pretty sad about that. I totally have just enough questions for a thing like that...we're so close. And yet. Argh!!

Haha! Last year:
