Argh now I have to deal with the fire department, according to a letter they came around today because our house is suspected of running a budget accommodation. Seriously, I wonder if this is because we have a workmate of hubby's who lives in our granny flat and someone has reported that. I know they are doing a big crack down on budget accomodations in this town because people are doing dodgy backpackers places, but we have one freaking guy living in a room under our house. Guess I'd best do housework so they can inspect the whole freaking house if they want to. They are going to be pissed when I tell them I can't set a date for someone to be home until next week when I get hubby's schedule and we will also not enter the granny flat without the residents permission and him being there if he wishes, it's still his personal living space.

Get 'em Wendy!
That really stinks that they're going to look into your place. I hope they don't cause any issues and it all comes back okay.

Jackie- How's the bugs doing in your house?

Yikes Wendy! Wasn't expecting that! How annoying...

Well Zoe is Ms. Cranky Pants. Can't blame her. I feel like crap myself. Aiden is still coughing, but is mostly back to himself. He's eating again even if it's at odd times. DH still feels fine. Blum 3

Oh no, Wendy...hope it doesn't turn into a big deal!

Sorry ya'll are still under the weather, Jackie, but at least Aiden seems to be improving? Our house is the house of the plague too. Addy's actually been in perfectly fine spirits and acting more or less normal, but her cheeks are flushed and her poor little nose is a faucet. DH and I are congested, whining, exhausted lumps of misery. I felt so bad for him--he canceled his after-school club yesterday to come home early, only to discover (while on the phone telling me this) that he'd left the lights on in the car and the battery was dead. For some reason, you CANNOT EVER jump our car--when the battery drains, it DRAINS, and so after spending a bunch of time with a friend trying to help him get it started he had to give in and call AAA. He got home 2 hours later than expected, spending all of it in a progressively dark and cold parking lot while feeling like death warmed over. Poor guy. At least I got to enjoy lying on the couch in my housepants with an uncharacteristically snuggly toddler watching cartoons that whole time :).

Ugh, I have TWO interviews to conduct today. I'm going to have to load up on cold meds at a strategic moment to make it through without being a snotty mess. I hope everything I say is coherent...

Your poor DH! Good luck being coherent today!;)

The ped yesterday did warn me that we might be a coughing household for 3 weeks. Yay. So guess I should get used to it.

My SILs boy is back at school now and says if the boys are good this week she'll let them miss school to attend the fun stuff Friday day (like see the planes, bombs, and simulators), which means she might be able to watch Aiden if need be that night!

Yay Jackie. Her boys would love seeing all that, I know Ronin would.

My Nanna went to an even bigger hospital because they couldn't do what was needed at the other one, so we are still in a waiting game. No one told me anything, I only found out because my aunt and Mum's cousin work in the hospital system where Nanna was, Mum's cousin got us some info and passed it on. No one will tell my Mum anything because the main aunt in this pretty much rejected Mum after her and Dad split up and Mum doesn't like her much anyway. I am also pretty much a black sheep of the family because I don't live in everyones pockets, think differently etc. My Nanna would be horrified though that the whole family is not being told whats happening.

I'm home alone all Saturday night. Hubby informed me his workmate is having a get together for his birthday so he will likely not be home and will just stay the night there. Wouldn't it be great to just drop all your responsibilities and go out and party up.

My aunt is selfish, at my Grandads funeral in 2009 she was all crazy with crying and stuff, had to be held up by people and just really OTT and made it an all about her show. Her daughter is the same, she made a poor me facebook status about it yesterday. They drive me nuts sometimes. They need to get over themselves and realize there are lots of people involved in this. It's sad we had to get information on the dodgy, but thankfully we had that avenue. We don't anymore now she has been moved hospitals. My Dad didn't update us either, but he also drove the 4/4.5 hours, probably stayed with Nanna the whole time then drove back again when she was transferred so probably needed sleep

Got to love family drama. Theres always 1 or 2 people in each family I think.
I really hope Nanna gets better. Thats whats important.

The stomach bug hit our house last night. Madison got it yesterday afternoon before leaving daycare. Thankfully today she hasn't gotten sick again though. My Mom & Dad are keeping her today.
I'll be glad when this board is over all the sick bugs

OMG you guys...night from hell. Addy woke up at 3-something and did not go back to sleep the rest of the night. I was nice and helped her use the potty (why I think she woke up in the first place, because she peed a ton) and sat with her for a bit the first time. The next two hours were a constant cycle of me and DH taking turns marching her silently back to bed and leaving, although taking a couple of minutes to stand outside the door and shush until she calmed down a bit. It was hell. Then when her green light came on I let her into our bed, where she rolled around and talked until 30 seconds before the alarm went off. I sat up to find her DEAD ASLEEP. I went and packed her lunch, made her breakfast, and then came back and it took me ten minutes to get her to wake up. INFURIATING!!!! It's a darn good thing she's so cute.

We're trying to work on leaving while she is still awake to help her learn to go to sleep on her own but it is NOT GOING WELL. Although this was only really the first day so. Ugh. Between the sudafed and the lack of sleep I feel like a crazy person!

My daughter's kids have been sick sick sick and now Ivy (3 1/2) has scarlet fever. Things are improving with antibiotics, but honestly, I haven't heard of scarlet fever in decades. Here is when living thousands of miles apart stinks!

Oh no Leigh!
I didn't sleep either last night. Probably why I'm feeling worse today than yesterday. Why must breathing when sick always sound way worse at night?! And Zoe wouldn't sleep unless upright on me. And I was too paranoid about dropping her or her falling off, so I sat there awake. DH got irritated at me and yelled at me in the middle of the night. I am very pissed off at him right now for calling me a cry baby because I cried from him yelling at me. I'm fn sick myself with a sick 2 week old!!!! :banghead:
FIL gets in later today. The house is an absolute mess. ugh.

Jackie- tell him to GET over it. You have every reason to be a mess right now. Sick, toddler, nb, hormones.

Leigh- I totally feel your pain. I think we all do. I hate nights like that so badly. I hope it's a fluke and she sleeps good for you tonight.

Oh wow, Scarlet fever. I haven't heard of that in a long time either.

Anyone need some humor? Here's an actual conversation I had with Rowan yesterday:

Rowan: I need a diaper change. This one's full of sh!t.
Me: What?
Rowan: This one's full of sh!t.
Me: Did you just say that's full of sh!t?
Rowan: Yeah. It's full of sh!t.
Me: Rowan, that's not a nice word. You should say it's full of poop.
Rowan: No, mama, no! Not poop! It's full of sh!t.

Incidentally, my DH is in a little bit of trouble for that.

Sorry everyone is dealing with sick kids. We've recently discovered that zinc lozenges actually do help (adults, not the kids). DH has managed to avoid getting Rowan's last three colds. Usually he gets hit really hard by them, but now he takes a zinc lozenge as soon as he feels one start to come on. I've tried it too, and haven't gotten sick. The only problem with the lozenges is that they temporarily alter your sense of taste, so you don't want one before a meal.

My brother and I both had scarlet fever as kids, but that was in the early eighties.

Oh no! I have heard of people having this in recent times, but definitely not something you think about!

Can I just say that this girl at work is driving me insane today. I could really vent away but for now I won't. I just wanted to say she is driving me batty.
This is the same girl I normally complain about too. Sometimes I wish she'd transfer out of my area.

My cousin had scarlet fever in the 90's, but yeah you never really hear of it these days.

So tired, I am very tempted to call in sick today. I did dry retch this morning, that's sick enough right.

Hugs, Molly. My two closest cube-mates DID just get moved, and it's awesome. Not because of them--they were quiet--but because of this guy who would come around and talk to them all the time who is SO ANNOYING and has the LOUDEST VOICE EVER. Ugh. I really miss my office with a door.

Also, you will all be thrilled to know that DH is actually starting to surpass me on the road to maybe deciding to go for #2...I blame the Wonder Years. We've been watching it as our "family friendly" evening show, and last night while watching the episode where Kevin goes to work with his Dad he was saying "Okay, that's it. I want a son..." and even after I reminded him that you can't pick and we might end up with sisters he said "That's okay. I would love that too. I would just definitely need a manctuary." Lol

Uh oh.

Not a whole lot of sleep for me once again. Sick newborns should never happen!!! I did get up and ready this morning and made it to the squadron just 30 minutes late (there at 7:45 with both kids!). Walked way too much. Pretty sure climbing in and out of his plane wan't the brightest idea. Didn't get lunch till 1:30. Ugh. I'm so flipping tired and still have to get ready for his graduation and formal dinner tonight! Oh and I'm still sick. Woo.

Awww I got a sweet babylike moment tonight, we watched Brave and then I put on the polar express. Ronin sat on my lap for most of it and next thing I know he wiggled around moved his head and was asleep. I made sure he was out to it before putting him in bed so I got a sleeping toddler on my lap for about 15 minutes.

I need, NEED, for Kole to start STTN. Co-sleeping most of the night with him results in DH sleeping on the couch. I think it's been like a month since we DTD, and it's so infrequent that when it does happen it's over before I can even get into it!! That's a bit of a side gripe, but Kole not STTN is killing me. He is squirmy and noisy and has to have a nipple in his mouth the whole time. I end up sleeping on my left side and getting aches and soreness as a result. Basically, I sleep like garbage! I put him down in his crib every night, but he's always in my bed by 3am. I could, and intend to, nurse him and then put him back in his crib but he never stays asleep long that way and I'll be going back and forth all night. I suppose I should really make the effort so that I can get some sleep and get my husband back in my bed.

Jackie, I hope all the sickness goes away soon and you can get some serious rest and relaxation!

Wendy, I'm glad you got some sweet toddler love!

It's so quiet here.

My baby is now a pre kindy kid. Day acre were originally going to move him up this week, but then decided to wait until after Christmas, but when they did the roles they forgot to move him back to toddlers, so I went to sign him in this morning and his name wasn't there so they asked if it was ok if he transitioned up for good today because he was on the pre kindy role. He's not a baby anymore, I can't even kid myself on that now. Come on stupid body and work so I can have a sweet snuggly baby

I also need some good news seeing as things don't seem well with my Nanna. She had surgery last week to remove two aneurysms, I find out today she has been placed in an induced coma because they found another one.

Hugs, Wendy. Sending all best to your family. I will likely be in a similar position with my grandmother soon as well Sad

I can't believe Christmas is a week from tomorrow! Aside from the ridiculous amount of cleaning that needs to be done seeing as we're hosting, I'm mostly ready and super excited! I can't wait to see Adair's little face on Christmas morning when she wakes up and comes out to see all the presents under the tree Biggrin She has been saying for months that she wants a "pink present" anytime you ask her what she wants, so I found some pink Hello Kitty Christmas wrapping paper and wrapped all of her presents except the big Santa gift and her stocking stuffers in that. She's going to FREAK OUT. We decided not to wrap Santa stuff--just sticking a bow on it and calling it good. I also took everything out of its packaging, just so it'll look a little more Elf-made Blum 3

Wendy, remember several of us us know what the TTC struggle is like. It's AWFUL. You'll get your BFP though - I know it!
And I'm soooo sorry about your Nanna. ((hugs))

Anna, Kole sleeping any better? How's unpacking? Still set to sell your house and buy your new one on time?

Zoe did better last night! Just one hour of screaming in the middle of the night which after the past few nights is pretty fantastic.

Glad you got some rest, Jackie! My cold seems to have settled into some obnoxious stage 2 that left me feeling pretty gross all weekend (although WAY better than stage 1) so I gave in and took some Nyquil last night and slept like the freaking dead. When my alarm went off I was so confused--it was awesome. And that makes like a whole week that Addy has slept well past 5:00...not counting any chickens but omg we might live.

One thing I dislike about winter is all of the bugs everyone gets. Hope you keep getting a little better at a time Leigh. And the wrapping idea sounds cute!

Wendy- So sorry to hear about your Nanna. And like the others said you'll get the BFP when you least expect it.

We started our Christmas events this weekend. I somehow sprained BOTH ankles Saturday. Left worst than right, but still it stinks. This upcoming weekend will be packed full of events as well.

Wendy, sorry to hear about your Nanna Sad

Anna, I hope he starts sleeping better soon. I am so over co sleeping with Lainey, but I don't know how to get her out of our bed and I don't have the energy to do much about it. She talks in her sleep, cries in her sleep, and kicks me most of the night.

Leigh, sounds like a beautiful Christmas in the making. I'm sure she'll be thrilled Smile And I hope you feel better soon. When I had bronchitis it almost killed me.

Molly, ouch!

MY SPD is killing me. OMG. I don't know how I'm going to survive another 7+ weeks.

My husband asked me last night if my recovery really was better than a CS because I'm still complaining this time. I had to explain to him that SPD was still hurting me and add in the stitches down there I'm gonna hurt at times and if I can't complain to my husband who can I complain to? Blum 3 I didn't complain much after my CS because he was very stressed and gone for 12+ hrs a day.
But I'm seriously over this SPD and didn't realize it could affect me so much after pregnancy! Sorry, I know that's depressing for you Kristi. lol
