I don't do enough with Eliza. Poor girl gets the short end of the straw with mama being so busy with sewing and such. I should do more. Today, we did water colors and she watched a Magic Schoolbus for the first time. That was interesting. And she found a new template to play with. I am telling you, get some templates. She loves those things! We also did playdough. Tomorrow, we are going to the children's museum, which we have not done in forever, so I did not feel bad about shorting her today.

Thanks for the link, that looks great! I sometimes feel I short Harlee too, with working full-time and also taking care of the house.....I guess that's why I worry so much about it!

Harlee does write her own name......that's one thing she is very good at.

Wow, that is great that she can write her name. I have to work on that with Eliza. She probably could do it if I taught her.

Actually, it didn't take her very long to learn, so I'm sure it wouldn't take Eliza long either

Madi learned to write her name by practicing on a white board. I've found that kids really enjoy writing on white boards and outside using sidewalk chalk. Pencil/paper tasks tend to bore this age group.

Drew loves writing, that is what got him on the reading thing. He can write his full name and everyone in the family. He likes to copy words out of books. We use a whiteboard, the penultimate iPad app or these amazing chalkboards.

We almost always have these chalkboards on our coffee table. I have a big dish in the center with the huge bucket of chalk I bought at Ikea. Sidewalk chalk buckets would be cool too. Both kids draw and color on them often.

One thing Brandon really loves are his magazines. We get Highlights High Five (which is a version of highlights for preschool-age children) and National Geographic for Little Kids. They have great stories and activities for him to do and he gets so excited when the mail comes. My mom actually bought him a subscription to Highlights Hidden Pictures because he loves it so much so now we get tons of magazines, lol.

We get the Highlights High Five too and Mieka LOVES it! It was a (great) Christmas gift from her great aunt Love reading all these activities
