My boys went to daycare and it was a really good one (the best ones are government run here). They did phonics and taught them a lot, it wasn't just "playtime". Definately look around at different ones, the best usually have staff that are well paid and there should be a low ratio per children/caregiver. I know when my boys started school they flourished since they were already used to that type of setting and were ahead of the game. I don't plan on doing anything with Markus/Clara since I stay home but I'll definately have to find some playgroups or something with other moms a year before they go or they will be terrified of other kids! Children definately learn the most at home, they are little sponges and will pick up things so quickly and you'll wonder where they picked it up from!
So Clara is OBSESSED with Chris' iphone and always wants to watch YGG or caillou/in the night garden on it (she LOVES iggle piggle). We are at a loss as to what to get her for her birthday... she has so much so we'd like to get her 1 main gift. Do you have any ideas for hand held toys that would be like an iphone where she could watch movies or interact/activity? I'm not thinking portable dvd player but she is seriously driving us nuts in the car always wanting the iphone playing shows, if she doesn't get it she goes apesh@t screaming and kicking the seat lol!! I know you guys will have some great ideas!
Markus has his vaccinations yesterday and he's 16lbs 5oz! He's sleeping through the night really good and the last few days has been a super happy guy. He never cried once today, just smiled and giggled! I'm so happy I can nurse and then just lay him down or put him in his sitter or highchair with a toy and he's content, he was such a GROUCH for a long time! Ahhhh the things I can get done lately Tonight I put him in the umbrella stroller in the basement next to the treadmill and he happily sat and watched me run while Clara went nuts on the plasma car (she LOVES it). I think I'd die without our basement, the kids have so much fun down there!
Tomorrow my MIL is coming over to show me how she makes her homemade chicken salad, this stuff tastes AMAZING! You eat it cold, we like it as a side with pizza. It`s cut up chicken breasts mixed with pineapple, peas, sliced almonds and her special sauce. I`ll have to post the recipe with a pic for you all
I made a video of Markus here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9mnjwIz5ko&feature=youtu.be
I did get to play tennis last night and it was awesome! Sometimes I even impress myself. The fact that I don't feel like death warmed over today makes me even happier. And while we are talking about me... Jason just left and took Belle to preschool and MA to gym class. They are going to run a few errands after that which leaves me HOME ALONE!!!! Of course the first thing I had to do was check in on you ladies. Now I'm going to put Glee on the laptop and clean my kitchen. Oh, the little things.
As for the preschool thing I think it's weird that NO place will actually teach your child. I haven't looked into anything for MA this year, but I had quite a few choices for Belle for 3 and 4 year old pre-school, and they all had a regular curriculum. Kilah, what happened to Jew school? I was totally rooting for her to join my team.
Sally, have you looked at the Leappad? I don't know if you can watch movies on it, but there are different apps and games that she can mess with and it's only $100 as opposed to a $500 Ipad or something like that. We really thought about getting one for Belle and we still might do that for her birthday. MA is fine watching movies in the car and when we go out with my parents they girls will sit and both do the pages for books on her Ipad. I think we may get one this year, but I'm not quite sure how we will swing it. We are hoping for a great end of year production bonus. Not for me even though I have had record breaking production, but for Jason.
Oh, and that is awesome that Markus is finally turning a corner for you. Hopefully you will be able to really enjoy them now instead of just making it through the day. And that is so great that you are able to get back on the treadmill! Are you having any residual pain from Markus's pregnancy?
Hope everyone has a great day!
Lol, Lindsay about the "Jew School." No, she's definitely still going in March if there is an opening. I'm looking for someplace for her to go next fall. And right now it's the top of the list. Not many places take 2 year olds. At all. So that's why it's hard. The Jewish School doesn't actually take 2 year olds, they are making an exception for H, which is why it works out so nicely as far as academia and play at the same time. It's just on the complete other side of town. Of course, by that, I mean like a 15 minute drive. When she is 3, preschool options are a lot better. Maybe that's just my problem, putting her in preschool so young. I just really, really need the break. I won't lie. I'm selfish enough to admit that. I need her to have her own thing for a few hours a week so I can spend some 1-on-1 time with Lio and also try to get things accomplished.
Yay for a free morning to yourself, Lindsay!
Sally - we are going to get H a Tablet. Well, Jaime wants to get her an iPad, I want to get her a tablet because it is cheaper. We'll see. But she does the same thing with the phone as Clara does.
Well, Halloway snuck into my bed again last night. Poor baby was hacking away, and having a bad, bad night. thank god it's morning. I never feel ready for morning, ha ha.
Oh, and my little sister is pissed at me. She asked me if we'd all come out to dinner tomorrow for a birthday dinner for her ex-boyfriend (who she's only started speaking to again in the last 3 days). I told her no way, and I was disappointed that she was buddies with him, because she is worth so much more. Of course, *I'm* the bad guy. Yeah, because I screwed around on her while we were dating and called her a ****t and wh*re and told her what an awful , worthless person she was and she was going to end up just like her mother on countless times...seriously, I don't miss being a teenager. Not one little bit.
I do however greatly fear having teenagers...
yeah, I think it's because she's 2 Kilah. We don't have preschool programs for 2 year olds here, we have "mothers morning out' that is focused on play and learning how to do things without their parents/in a group/that kind of stuff. I don't think I'm going to take Rowynn next year, though I'm not going to lie that I thought about it. But she's SO good, really really good, I don't really feel like I need a "break" from her. She plays by herself really well and stuff.
i hope you got some sleep Whitney. yes, we got the dishwasher installed, it's so awesome! haha.
Sally, I think the leappad does play videos. We have a innotab, and it may. I haven't looked into it though since we have portable DVD players, they just use it to draw and play games on. I'm glad Marcus is being good for you! I was just saying yesterday how good a baby Egan is. I think he's about the same size as Marcus. He's about a month younger, so he's about a lb lighter right now, but he's been gaining about a lb a week, so he's in that range. Isn't he SO heavy to carry around? haha it's crazy.
Lindsay, I'm glad you got to play! I think we should totally get bonuses. I definitely had record breaking production here too. I think someone once added up what a SAHM would get paid if it was a "real" job and it was like over a million dollars a year. Ohhhhhhhh the things I could do with a million dollars a year...even half that! I hope you get a ton done with your alone time.
Kilah, that sucks about your sister. Sorry about H. I know how you feel...
Egan started coughing something horrible around 5 this morning. Only a few times, but it sounds croup like to me. ugh. But it isn't often, and he doesn't seem to have a fever or be having trouble breathing. So I guess I'm just going to watch him. But i am on the border of taking him (and R) to the doctor.
Just popping on really quick to say we got Chloe an Innotab for Christmas and it's been a God send! She can watch all her videos (and full length movies) on it and listen to all her music, as well as play games and read her books. I'm so super impressed with it and it's holding up well to being used every.single.day. Chloe is getting the camera attachement for her b-day so she can load her own photos onto it. We chose to get a tablet without internet connection, since Chloe knows how to use the browser! We were too afraid she'd buy something or go to a site that we wouldn't want her to go to!
Ugh I seriously want to leave FB over the mandatory timeline format... I HATE it!!!
What is this mandatory timeline format? I have yet to see it...
Agh. I seriously need to set up a budget. A friend of mine is going to lend me her Dave Ramsey book when her other friend is done. I'm not so worried about that. We just spend an excessive amount of money, and really need a serious savings. I was going to try and make a budget sheet..but then realized I don't even know where to freaking start, ha ha. I swear budgeting is a joke in my house. But I want to get serious about it. We just always seem to pay our bills and then blow everything leftover.
One of the first things Dave says is that you tell your money where to go. He also says that your first budget item is food, then housing, I kind of disagree with that but whatever. Good luck and if you have and Dave questions I would be happy to help. Good luck!
I rarely look at other people's pages so the timeline thing doesn't bug me too much.
I only want to use FB to talk to my friends and store my pics. I now use it for my business as many contacts want to talk through there instead of email lately. I just don't like the look/layout at all, it's so confusing and screwed up looking. I like the big pic across the top. They are going to switch everyone's account in the next couple weeks. I noticed Tera and Brittany already have it, I think you have the option to switch over early? I'm just so annoyed by it!!
Tera thanks for the innotab idea, I looked it up and it had horrible reviews about breaking and batteries that die fast. I don't always go by reviews though so to me I guess I should definately get an adaptor for it (but we use rechargeables anways in this house). Does it cost money to download games/movies? Do you have buy extra things for it? I love it so far from what I've seen online!
I am completely recovered from Markus' pregnancy. Up until a couple weeks ago I couldn't get up from the floor in a crouching position without holding onto something with my hands. But I think it was from lack of strength in my lower back/stomach area for 6 months +. Just a month ago if I bent over to grab something from under a shopping cart I really struggled physically to stand back up straight without using the cart or conveyor to get back up. I've been taking it slow with stength training. So far I only speed walk 1/2 mile on the treadmill once a day and I'll slowly up it each week and then start incline and running... I don't want to push too hard and end up hating it.
YAY!!!! Someone wants to make an offer on our house in New Mexico! I SOOOO hope this goes through. I am so done with the stress that house has brought us. As long as we don't owe any money, I don't even care if we break completely even. I just want it gone. Not to mention the extra $800 a month we're paying in mortgage would do miracles to our lives, haha.
Kilah- That's great news! I hope it goes through and you get a little $$ out of the deal too!
Sally- I almost didn't get the Innotab because of the reviews, but I'm glad I went with my gut. I will say that the batteries die super super fast, but we also use rechargeable and I just plug the batteries in every night before bed and I always have a set on the charger so if they die during the day I can pop a new set in. It's somewhat annoying, but not too bad. We don't have the adapter yet. I really need to get one already! As for the books/movies- We just got a cheapo memory card and downloaded all her movies off of the dvd's, music off the cd's and her Kindle books into the Innotab folders. You have to convert them (it comes with the software), but it doesn't take long. Yes, I really really love that darn tablet!
Can I just lament for one moment about how much I hate pt'ing??? So, Chloe is 110% trained when we are NOT at home! WTH? She'll ask me to go potty, wait until we get to the bathroom and go like she's been doing it since birth. At home she'll scream 'no'! if I ask her to use the potty and she'll hide when she goes. Arg! Then she will come screaming for me to change her. I've tried just switching her to the big potty and eliminating the little one, but she insists she wants to use 'her potty'. The only time she goes at home is first thing in the morning. She'll wake up, climb out of bed and go take off her pants/diaper and just use the potty. I don't get it! The worst part is that if she even pees a tiny bit while at home she freaks out and screams for a new diaper. I'm so frustrated.
Tera - have you tried letting her go naked from the waist down while at home? Halloway has her potty in the living room or her playroom typically, and runs around half naked, and we don't have a single accident while at home. Half the time she'll take and dump the potty into the big potty if I don't realize it in time, ha ha. When we are out and about it's about 80/20. 80% of the time she's fine, but there are a few accidents. I noticed that if I don't put her in a diaper/pull up while out, she has fewer accidents. I think it's because she "knows" it's okay to pee in a diaper/pull up.
I'm so glad that your getting interest on the house! What a huge relief that will be to be done! Hopefully you can make a little money on it!
Tera, I'm sorry Chloe is being so finicky about the potty. I didn't start with Belle until she was almost 3 so I have no sage words of wisdom. Oh, the one I liked was, "It's not like your going to send them to college with a box of Pampers!" That one always did kind of make me feel better. MA will mostly tell me when she has to poop, but that's it. I keep toying with the idea of pt'ing but I just can't psych myself up enough for it right now. I'm thinking that when Fin is sleeping though the night, or at least on a decent schedule this summer I'll do it. But we shall see how serious I am about that.
Yeah, I got another match for tomorrow night. I will be 35 weeks tomorrow and I am still feeling surprisingly good. I can't sustain activity for very long periods, but as long as I get a little rest between activities I feel awesome. I'll update this tomorrow and see how optimistic I'm feeling. Oh, and Jason and I are going out to dinner with friends on Saturday night with NO KIDS! I am WAY to excited about that.
Kilah, we mostly do that too. We do have some savings and our retirement and stuff taken out of Michael's check automatically. We also tend to pay any large amount we get (bonuses and tax money) on the car or the one credit card we have. We paid off the car though. And this year we're using our tax money to go to Disney.
I've heard the best way to do it is the first month just spend like you normally do but write down EVERYTHING. At the end of the month you'd be shocked at the crazy stuff you spend money on and the way it adds up. We decided to eat out less too and made a goal to only eat out so many times a month. The only thing is I need to start telling Michael he can only eat lunch and breakfast out so many times a month because that's a good chunk right there.
I hope the house thing pans out for y'all Kilah! I wouldn't want something like that hanging over me I know. I decided when we want to move we're going to sell the house and then if we don't find anything in time we're going to rent something while we look. Because I can't imagine worrying about two mortgages and I have ZERO desire to rent out my house.
Lindsay, I'm so jealous of how good you feel! Seriously, I had given up on grocery shopping by the time I was 35 weeks. i hope you have a fantastic time on Saturday.
Alright, I got Egan to sleep, I hope he stays asleep long enough for me to fold some laundry real quick...
I'm at a loss right now and need your help. I had new logos made for my website and now I can't decide what I like best.
Tell me what you guys think looks best (I want a change from the current).
Here is the current...http://surrogacy.ca/
(The logos will be clearer/more crisp once finalized these are just test pages).
That is awesome Lindsay! It is amazing that you feel so good too, the working out probably helped that! Yay for dinner out on Saturday too. We went out to eat with a friend last night spur of the moment and my mom agreed to watch Gavin while we went, and it was SO NICE!
I hope these people decide to buy the house kilah. Yeah 2 morgages sounds super terrifying.
We're not potty training here so I have no advice on that front.
Dave Ramsey's books are really good. It definitely helped me with some ideas and how to be more aware of things. We've cut down on fast food and eating out (need to cut down more though). We are probably going to pay off one of the cars this year and that will be awesome. We havent' started retirement and everything yet but we do have a nice emergency fund and no credit cards which are two of Dave Ramsey's rules. We need to start working on my student loan as well.
My life is so much better since I got rid of that one case omg. Work is like so easy and great now!! I can actually focus on my clients who can be helped and 3 of my main clients are progressing really good. I'm so much happier with my job now. I'm planning on staying until maybe when I'm on maternity leave next time I might start looking. Just thought I'd share that.
whoa I tried opening the first link Sally, and it said "malicious website blocked"...sorry.
Whitney, I'm so happy for you! You were so miserable before, and now you can really see yourself staying for a while. That is so wonderful for you! Did you have to go to court or no?
Sally, I really like the third one, but the text underneath is hard to read. I don't know how the finalization will change it, but I really like the leaf.
Ann-Marie, we did the sell first and then buy and it worked out fine. Jason and I have completely different taste in houses so it's a tiny miracle that we have agreed on two so far. I hope you get your laundry done!
I cleaned out my laundry room this morning and I feel so accomplished. I cleaned the kitchen yesterday and it was so nice, for about an hour! But that's life right. Oh and I finally organized the playroom so everything has a home. Since we are having company one night this weekend I still need to finish the sheets and stuff, but I'm thrilled with my progress! I love nesting!
Whitney, you must have have quite the safe search/firewall on to get that message. Some servers will block out my website as they think it's pornography but it's not. You can enter the url at this site to get it... www.proxify.com
Yay for going out Lindsay! Jaime and I are going out tomorrow for dinner without the kids. It's amazing how easy it is for me to leave them with H's babysitter and not feel bad or worried. I'm going to be so sad when she graduates, because I don't have any family I trust with my kids like I do her, haha.
I'm glad your job is getting better, Whitney! That is so good. You deserve it.
Yeah, we didn't really plan on having 2 (technically 3, but we're not going there because I know I've b*tched about that one a lot in the past) mortgages. But Jaime was technically living in NM whehn we got together, since he was in school. His job paid for him to fly back and forth and hotel live while he was here. But then when we got serious, he decided to make IN his permanent home. This happened to be when the economy was crashing, so selling the house in NM would have been at a huuuuge loss. Instead his brother just rented it, so it all worked out, and we bought the house here in IN. But his brother very abruptly moved out in Sept when he got a divorce and since they also never had anything in writing (this is where Jaime and I have VERY different views about what is acceptable, even with family) we had a trashed house that we spent two weeks cleaning and fixing up, no damage deposit, and no locked in contract so that he at least had to pay xyz until a certian date. Yeah, screwed. At least since we were not anticipating it.
It looks like Halloway will start the Gan Shalom preschool the week of Feb. 13, going 2 days a week. Hopefull sometime in March she can move to MWF schedule, because I think that will work better for us, but we shall see.
I ordered Jaime a Mississippi Mud Cake for his mini-brithday celebration Saturday. It's chocolate/coffe/kalua cake with chocolate ganache on top. YUM! Totally not Paleo, but totally gonna find it's way into my belly.
So Jaime super impressed me. I had told him I wanted us to make a real budget, and I've said this before and he always just kind of shrugs it off. WEll, he sat down while flying home last night and went through what the average of all our spendings are, etc. I was so impressed! But I think we are going to wait and instill a true budget AFTER we get our taxes back and pay off all the credit cards, and hopefully the house is sold by then. Because yeah, we're like $75 in the hole right now a month...without food...:-/. But some of it isn't really monthly, so we're not REALLY in the hole, but on paper we are. If that makes sense at all.
I like A Sally. I like the font the best and it's the easiest to read, the cleanest one I think.
Lindsay, that's awesome you cleaned out your laundry room. I did mine last week and it's AMAZING. I got 2 loads of laundry done and folded while Fi was at school. I have to clean up the living room with the toys today. We went to target and AGAIN I did not come home with more organizing shelf things. Michael is taking me tomorrow morning or I'm going to flip.the.freak.out. haha.
It's supposed to storm here soon and they let out the schools early. The roads were crazzzzzzzzy. I hope it's a false alarm, but the recent bad weather we've had has made me super paranoid about it all. We got a text from the private school associated with Fiona's preschool that they were letting kids out early, but they didn't clairify if it was the preschool too so we had to call them. It wasn't them, so it was all weird.
and ughhh it totally deleted my lline about how im glad work is going better for you Whitney.
Ann-marie, I've been watching the crazy weather you have been having. Has any of that gotten close to you guys? I guess this is the downside to the awesome warm winter we have been having. We are in or close to 70's almost every day. LOVE IT! But yeah, the tornado's are really scary! And I will think positive organizational thoughts about Micheal for tomorrow, I would hate to see you on the news for popping his head off in Target.
Yeah for H going to preschool! I'm sure she will love it. MA did the mommy and me gym class with Jason yesterday and was totally wiped out until nap time. She was just laying on the sofa watching YGG or playing quietly in the playroom. The class is only an hour, but it's a lot of activity for an hour so I love it! I didn't tell Jason about everyone sitting around and singing part and he was not impressed with that when he came home, but he got over it. Yes, I'm a mean wife.
A friend of Jason's is bringing us pizza, and me a wide angle lens to borrow, so he can borrow Jason's video camera when he goes to hawaii this week. And what am I most excited about.... Not having to make dinner.
Yay Lindsay. I think I'm going to make soup. I should be thinking about that now...I don't know though.
Yeah, we're supposed to get it sometime..I'm not certain when. I'm thinking around 4.
I make that potato soup fairly often, maybe once a month or so. We all really love it! I wish it had a veg in it though.
I've made the broccoli cheese toohttp://www.grouprecipes.com/65970/copycat-panera-bread-broccoli-and-cheese-soup-in-bread-bowls.html
I'm thinking of making this one tonight thoughhttp://www.skinnytaste.com/2011/01/chicken-pot-pie-soup.html
or possibly thishttp://bsinthekitchen.com/baked-potato-grilled-cheese/
YUM!!! I will try the muffin thing tomorrow for sure! That looks so awesome.
Thanks for being happy for me guys
Ann-marie, what happened with the storm? Did you make soup? I hope you get the organizational stuff you want tomorrow. I think Michael has made you wait long enough.
Lindsay, lol about Jason and the gym class. I bet he secretely loved it.
That's crazy about Jaime's brother and the house. It sucks when you can't even trust family and they screw you like that. The birthday cake sounds fabulous. And yay for Jaime being on board for the budget thing.
Tom is totally making me scrambled eggs right now. Love him.
Yeah, we barely got any rain. I'm glad I was freaked out for nothing. I used to not get freaked out, but DANG after the year we've had I just can't feel good about it when they start dismissing schools and putting out 5 hour tornado watches (or warnings, whichever means that there COULD be one).
Glad Tom is making eggs, that's so super awesome.
I made them tonight Lindsay and OMG they were so good. Crazy awesome.
Can't wait to try them! I am out of yellow cheeses so I may sub mozzarella but other than that they look awesome!
I totally LOL'd at Jason secretly loving it! Too funny. You might be right though. Would Tom love or hate to sit and sing in a circle with other parents and Gavin on his lap? And sometime scrambled eggs can make up for a LOT of socks on the living room floor.
Oh, and I would totally freak out about storms as well. The past year has been wild with weather and it's better to be safe than sorry. I was feeling a little panicky this past summer with Hurricane season and we only had one maybe storm. I can definitely feel your pain.
We had eggs tonight too Whitney!
Now we are having a weird thunder/lightening rain storm which is melting the tiny bit of snow we have. I think this system is related to the ones in the US.
Those soups sound great, I've never made homemade soup, well, I did do chicken noodle once and I didn't find it all that great so it doesn't count. My MIL makes an amazing dumpling soup made from semonlina flour and chives (with chicken stock). I'd like to learn how to make couscous dishes.... anyone have one to share?
Hopefully I'll get a chance to upload my MIL's chicken salad dish that we made together the other day... it soooo good!
Here is the chicken salad dish, it's a mixture of chicken breasts, pineapple, sliced almonds and peas. The sauce is made with sour cream, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt/pepper. We like to eat it as a side with pizza and today I made it on sandwiches. Sooooo goood!
I think Tom would do it. But singing in a circle is kind of a stretch for anyone And yeah he does do a lot of stuff that makes up for the socks, but the socks still irk me.
Glad there wasnt a storm!
That chicken salad does look good. I'm surprised you've never made soup!
holy crap did ya'll watch big bang theory tonight? It was hilarious.
No, we haven't watched big bang theory yet. Michael is on some weird freaking schedule. He went to bed at 9 last night, woke up at 1, and just went back to sleep (it's 7). I told him I'm waking him up at 10. I would be angrier about it if it wasn't for the fact that Rowynn woke up twice last night and he took care of her and then she woke up at 6:00 and he got up with her.
I feel so bad for her. I guess I'm going to watch her the next few hours to decide if I should take her to the dr. or not. She was running a fever again last night but it came right down and went away with ibprophen. I hate trying to decide if they need to go to the dr. or not. She doesn't have a fever, but she doesn't feel real good either.
And I'm tired but Fiona woke up, and I couldn't go back to sleep anyway because I was worried about Rowynn. So bah.
Annmarie whenever my kids are on/off with fevers I always take them, it usually turns out to be an ear infection. It could be just viral though, deciding to go in or not is frustrating. I hope she feels better soon!
I have never watched big bang theory but I tend to not watch popular shows ... I don't enjoy watching american idol, friends, survivor, the bachelor... can't stand them actually!! I'm more of a documentary/movie watcher and I can never get enough of ER/seinfeld or SATC. Chris likes this hour has 22 minutes and I can't stand to watch that! Lately if I ask him to watch the baby for a bit in the evening he always seems to have on that Maury show with "who's the baby's daddy?" He'll be smiling and laughing telling me to check this one out... it always surprises me to see him getting a kick out of that show.
I don't like any of those other shows you mentioned either Sally. But in my opinion BBT is the best, most original, sitcom to come out in decades. I like very few sitcoms. Basically it's that, Roseanne and the King of Queens. I think Roseanne is one of the best shows ever made. And BBT is produced by the same guy, he's a freaking genius.
I don't like any of those popular reality shows either. The only reality shows I like are Teen Mom, Top Chef, Project Runway and America's Best Dance Crew. And I watch a lot of the horrible crap on TLC out of morbid fascination. I have a really weird mix of shows I like haha. I also love to watch documentaries. Have you watched any of the OWN channel? They have their oprah's documentary club or whatever. They have all been really good. The last one was called Louder Than a Bomb and it was amazing.
Ann-Marie, I don't know about Rowynn. I'm not sure what causes fevers to go up and down like that. But I guess I would wait at least until it came back, if it did.
Just had to jump in. I have heard Big Bang THeory is great and have watched it somewhat but not a lot. We've been watching a lot of Scrubs. We also love Seinfield and My Name is Earl.
Oh, anyone watch Raising Hope? It's awesome! I just finished the first season on Netflix and tried to watch a new episode this week but the president was giving a speech. Figures since it's the first time in like years that I've tried to watch something like that on tv! That's why I don't do it!
I like Scrubs a bit but not a ton. My Name is Earl is interesting to watch but I always feel like I'm missing something or I don't quite get the humor. It's ok though. I know everyone loves Seinfeld but I just don't. I find it extremeley annoying and unfunny most of the time. Tom thinks I'm crazy for thinking that as almost everyone loves Seinfeld. I've never seen Raising Hope, what channel is it on?
It's on Fox. Tuesdays at 9:30 I believe.
I have just recently been hearing a lot about Raising Hope, maybe I'll check it out on Netflix. I have given up watching prime time TV. It's right when we are doing baths and bed so I always miss the beginning or middle. I'm still watching Project Runway all stars at my dad's, but other than that it's all netflix for me. Oh and Jason and I watch TerraNova and Grimm on the computer, but we stay pretty far out of date on that. Oh, I also love Glee, but watch that on the computer after the fact as well. So I guess I do like a lot of prime time TV, just not at prime time.
Ann-Marie, can you call and ask the nurse what she thinks. More often than not the nurse will tell me to do whatever the dr. would say anyway, and it saves me a trip. I'm going to the store today, so I'm going to get the right cheese to make those biscuits tonight. Thanks so much for the dininspiration.
Yeah, she seems fine now. Last time she was running a fever only at night and I had Egan's 2 month appt and I asked. They told me as long as she was playing fine and didn't have any obvious signs of infection to try to wait it out as long as sI could. A lot of viral stuff was going around. I told them she had it for 5 days, and they said it could go on about 7. So we'll see. She's only running one at bedtime. She has a cough, but that's it. I think I'll wait till mid week next week unless it goes to all day fever or she seems worse.
yeah, i love big bang theory. Is anyone watching once upon a time? its sooooooooo awesome.
OMG, I LOVE Once Upon a Time! That and Terra Nova are the only shows I *never* miss. We do watch BBT and Modern Family, as well.
I'm totally spoiled with "on demand" type stuff. I guess if you have a dvr it's the same sort of thing though. I can never remember to sit down and watch a show at a specific time.
Oh yeah I would never be able to watch anything if I didn't have DVR. It's definitely one of those things that once you have it you can't fathom getting rid of it.
OMG Ann-Marie, just jumping on quick to say how awesome the biscuit thing was! The girls wern't crazy about it, but it wasn't pizza or tacos so it was already at a disadvantage. Thanks!
Ugh I'm so annoyed. I went to get new glasses today b/c mine are all like broken and messed up. I spent 45 minutes picking out new frames only to have them tell me my prescription was expired and they wouldn't sell me new glasses w/o an eye exam first. I think that's so freaking stupid first of all. Second of all why didn't the lady helping me tell me that before I spent that much time in there grrrr! Then we were going to go to olive garden and it was super packed so we left and then I was just really pissed. Oh then I came home and the dog pooped and it was all like crumbly and weird all over the carpet and had to be vacuumed.
That sounds like an awesome day Whitney! At least it's Friday. Did you end up getting glasses, and I didn't know you had a dog. Who else has a dog?
No I didn't. I have to call and make an appointment. SO IRRITATING. I'm not over it yet.
yeah we have a stupid dog. I told Tom I'm not getting any more dogs after this one dies, like ever.
Whitney I am waiting out my cat's death so I totally feel you on that one. Our last stupid cat died the morning we were going to leave for vacation. I think he did it out of spite, and he was 14 years old and had a thyroid condition, but mostly spite.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it Lindsay! Fiona ate TWO of them..haha. Rowynn was too tired so she didn't eat any, but i'm sure she would have loved it otherwise.
That sucks about your glasses Whitney. I was just thinking last night I should go and renew my prescription and get some glasses. I haven't gotten any new ones in a while, and the ones I do have are somehow the wrong prescription even though it hasn't changed. It's because I suck at the "which one is better" game, so I messed up my prescription somehow.
Olive Garden is always packed here. We learned it's just as good to just order it to go. They give you a crap ton of salad and we don't have to wait or entertain our children, so it works well. I'm sorry you had such a crappy night. I know how that is when things just don't go right and you just want to go home and eat a peanut butter sandwich or something.
We have dogs. I love them. Lots. haha. We'll always have dogs. We say all the time that if we didn't have kids we'd be crazy dog people. We can't look at pictures of dogs that need to be adopted or get near pet smart when the humane society is out there pimping dogs or we'll come home with one. And there is currently NO more room in my bed or my lap, so we're good on dogs.
So I got done making Fiona's cake and the punch for tomorrow. I have to ice the cake tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes. It was surprisingly uneventful, and it's silly I was so anti making a cake. This one was not bad. Of course I didn't TECHNICALLY make the cake this year, it's all boxed cake mix. BUT I had to color it and it's 6 layers, so yeah.
I wasn't necessarily tired until right now. So I think I'm going to go to bed in a minute.
I swear I was going to say something else....
Oh yeah, my dishwasher is the awesome.
