Disney, vans, SD cards and PT

just a FEW things I have been busy with this last month Biggrin

First of all, we enjoyed our 2 weeks Cali vacation! We did 3 days 2 nights at Disney. WHAT a whirlwind that was! It still was not enough time to see everything LOL! The hotel was AMAZINGLY wonderful (we stay at the Paradise Pier) and the way it has changed since I was a kid... just wow! California Adventure was way cooler than I thought it would be.. and the bummer was we were there just a FEW DAYS before they opened CARS LAND! Now we have to go back LOL!

The rest of the vacation was awesome... spent time with family, went to the beach and ate a TON of Mexican food (and drank my share of Vodka too LOL!) Then we went up to north county, Riverside area where my Dad lives. Spent 4 days there being treated like Royalty and fed like we were starved AHHA! The kids did a ton of art projects, including some really neat stepping stones with their handprints and sea shells and rocks they had collected!
My Dad and stepmom gave us their Bronco to drive back... it is quite a pampered machine (only 130,000 and its a 1994!) and in perfect condition! YES

All our cars have always been POS's... and we bought our van (story on that later) so we would have ONE nice car. Well, the van started running like CRAP out there, and we were sure it would take a doodle on the way home. We thought, Dear Lord, just get us HOME and then it can DIE in peace HAHAHA... I mean, we were just that DONE with it. So we get through Vegas and start into Utah... when all of a sudden Andy pulls over in the Bronco. We had 2-way radios, all he said was OH S*** she died on me. I was like WTH!!!! So I guess she was chugging really bad. Well, we let her cool down, started off and it did it again. So we called our roadside assistance and they towed us into Cedar City, Utah. It was like, 2 when we got there. The shop people were pretty cool, and they had it torn down pretty fast. It was bad news... and it would take some cash and time. They let us know that no matter how they sliced it, nothing could be done till tomorrow. So, we called Dad (he put a warranty on it for us LOL!) and let him negotiate with the shop, and we got another hotel room and did our best to stay cheery. LOL.

Next day we got up, checked out.. and waited. And waited. Luckily they had some cool parks and it was a big enough town there was food and places to mill around. Finally, we get a call.... and it was ready. we hauled out of that town faster than you could say WHAT!!! LOL.. finally, at 10 pm we got home... 16 days (almost 17) from when we had left! LOL!

Thinking the worst was over, we went to upload pics and enjoy our vacation! WHEN.. the SD card with ALL THE DISNEY and ALL THE BEACH photos would not upload. AT all. Long story, a few more dollars and 3 weeks later, we just got the word today, from SAN DISK that it was not recoverable. Sad So, those are gone. Devestating.

Then, we took the van in to get looked at, and I just got the today (yes, back to back calls) that the van needs more work than we expected, and the warranty company is really screwing us on it. So, there is that. I am still waiting the phonecall to see what our portion might be... Sad but involves an engine tear down and I am fairly certain that will be more than we can afford. HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA

OK, finally.. Dalton is leading the PT and doing WONDERFUL! We are having our share of accidents, of course... but he is doing great and we are really excited!!

Ok.. if you got through that? get yourself a drink Biggrin And I am really ok... I felt a shift today, and bad news aside I think the worst is over now. Time to just pick up and move forwards with all things LIFE>

The van has an exhaust leak, a ticking lifter and needs new tie rods  IF warranty covers the engine portion, we will only be out around $400... if NOT? we are looking closer to $1500. We don't have that, not by any stretch of the imagination. BUT the kicker is, the engine HAS to be torn down BY a professional mechanics shop and then the parts get inspected by the warranty company themselves. So they double screw you by forcing you to take the chance on the warranty. Jerks. Got us coming and going. BUT, the Lord always provides. So we will stay in prayer Biggrin

If we lived there, annual passes would be a MUST. I grew up going to Disney every year, at least once! It is still my most favorite place on earth!!

And no, not weaned. He is nursing significantly less and less... we are SOOO close to the end! i am SOOOOO ready!!!!!

ETA: My Aunt and cousins MAY have gotten a few pics from visiting, but NO ONE was at the beach or Dland with us that was taking pics besides us, so no... they are all gone.

Oh boo. I was hoping for your sake you had others to grab pictures from. I would be a wreck losing pictures.

YAY for weaning. So awesome you have gone 2 years! Thats so awesome!
eww on the repairs. I am sooooo thankful DH is uber handy. He can rebuild engines in no time. And has the connection to get things at a reduced cost. But you are so right, it will work out. Hang in there!
