I am the good guy....

and daddy is the bad guy. But that means Tommy isnt listening to me. Any tips or suggestions? We mastered the bedtime routine with DH putting him to bed, and he listens. But the same routine does NOT work for me. Any tips or thoughts?

Not sure about that, my eldest is 4! He knows what he's doing though and is constantly testing me! where as Alice doesn't quite get it yet. But mine don't listen to daddy either, so we don't have the good cop bad cop thing going on.

We struggle with this, but DH and I reverse rolls sometimes. Bedtime was better until teething and needing a toddler bed (for safety) became part of the picture. DH tries to read books to her once (where as I'll do it until she relaxes enough to get drowsy) and wonders why she flips if she's too wound up still. I go to floss her teeth and DH wants to stop half way through because she's scared.

I wish I had a solution to offer other then trying to be consistent. I always harp on DH that DD responds better when she gets the same response from us regardless of the situation (so we're still figuring out how to tackle bed time).

yeah I dont think we intentionally did the good cop bad cop deal. But tommy totally listens to daddy way more than me. Especially bedtime. DH can put him down and walk out and he settles, but I cant leave room until he is asleep. Dont get me wrong, Tommy is a good kiddo. He tends to follow the rules but he does push the boundarys on some things.
PS- Should we be flossing their teeth? I havent been?????

It's probably because he knows daddy means business. If you want him to take you seriously you are going to have to be consistent and down right scary. lol!

Kip and Trace are great. Although, right now Trace is mad because I forgot to buy milk yesterday so he can not have his cereal. What a persistent little one he is.

Keep at it Sarah he will learn;)
