I think we are teething again!

This is why I think we are teething- DS has the worst diaper rash ever. He has not eaten anything new to cause the rapid rash that appeared on his bum this morning. My mom called( she watches him while I am at work) and said he was screams in pain after he poo'd. Poor guy was so tired from getting his diaper changed he passed out for an early nap. But could it be the added drool from teething? I dont see any thing in the back of his mouth, but they are coming I am sure of it. I was trying to think of what other reasoning for it. he has a cold too. But I am fairly certain its teeth. Any teething suggestions for a soon to be 2yo? Any one else experiencing the 2 year molars right now or who has gone through them? I heard they are the most painful ones.

Us too, us too! Izzy had the diaper rash a couple of weeks ago (she's so slow to cut teeth, takes forever), and has been drooling like crazy and chewing on anything she can fit in her maw. She bit DH yesterday, and shortly after I was finally able to sneak a finger in and get a feel--she's definitely got the four pokey corners of one molar peeking through the gum now. Hopefully they get them out soon and don't have too much of an issue with it Smile

Alice is definitely getting her 2 year molars. She spent a week screaming in the middle of the night. We resorted to calpol after the 2nd night. She is very drooly.. And has a horrendous face rash. She's had some runny looking diapers as well, but so far no rash down there. We put teething gel on her gums before she goes to bed and she's been alright really since we got over the week of screaming. I can actually feel one on the top that's poked through a bit, but not the other 3 yet.
When my DS got his, he was fine. They didn't bother him at all. I think we used half a tube of teething gel with all his teeth. And Alice is on her 3rd one!

Well I am sorry we are all experiencing this. Tommy poo'd during a nap. He hasnt done that, in well since he was a newborn. So the runny poo's with the drooling, I am calling it. Its teething. We have yet to find something that helps. Advil does well with him but doesnt help the teeth. And they are so far back in the mouth its not like he can easily get something back there to chew on. I might try to take another peek tonight and see or feel for something.
Dani- we are slow at cutting teeth too. Especially the molars. I swear the 12 year molars have just finished coming out completely.

I think we are also getting the 2yr old molars...we have had the gritty poops...Charlie doesnt seem to ever get a rash....and he doesnt really dribble either....its usually gritty poops and wakes up in the night about 3am and stays away for the next 3hrs chatting and laughing to himself...So I cant really complain as he never really does....its just the broken sleep that gets us here...

Not much you can do for the teeth other than your normal kids pain meds (ours is called Pamol or paracetamol....And when it gets real bad I also give him Ibprofen as they can be used together and work really well...) And teething gel....we also have a natural teething powder here thats a 'weleda' brand....dont know if you have anything like that over there....

The 2yr old molars can be painful and do tend to take along time to cut through...:(

I know Nat, and he is such a slow teether to begin with. We have Hylands teething gel but it really doesnt seem to make a difference. I kinda gave up on all of that after the first few. It just doesnt seem to help. hm. And tonight he refused to let me see or feel inside his mouth. So will try again tomorrow.

Hope everyone hangs in there on the molars! At least we are all on the same page

Dalton is cutting all his eye teeth right now.. sharp little suckers!!!

I haven't noticed any molars yet, but based on his recent bouts of grumpiness (short lived as they may be) I bet more are on their way!!! Teething is ALMOST done ladies Biggrin

Noah had a total of 5 molars coming in and I never even knew it until he was gnawing on his hand one day... he is the easiest kid when it comes to stuff like this!! (Lucky us!!) I give him baby Advil and it seems to work great! (stops him from eating his fingers anyway) He's drooling buckets tho!

So we're not doing the 2 year molars yet, but about 6 months ago when the other big teeth were coming in, Colin had the world's WORST diaper rash. I tried everything and ended up going to the doctor (well twice, but the first guy was a knob) and got some hydrocortisone mixed with something else for bacterial rashes like jock itch (the key was mixing, not prescribing it separately) - anyways, it worked like MAGIC. Even if it IS teething that's causing the rash, you might need extra help getting rid of it. HTH.

Thankfully the rash is almost gone, its like 90% better. I have a mix of : malox, cornstarch and desitin. And using neosporin first then tons of the mix on top. Along with the flannel wipes with just water. But he will not let me feel or see his mouth but teeth are coming. I just know it. But I feel like its going to be another 3 months before they break through. Julie- is Colin done with teeth except the 2 year ones or does he still have more to go?

Ahhh OK so we are all on the same page. Man the drool seems like its just running out of his mouth. And the lovely diaper rash reappeared. I dont see any teeth. Poor kid, these suckers are going to take their sweet time.
