I got to go to a spa at the end of May. Yay! I left Friday afternoon and came back Saturday dinner time. It was the first time I have ever left my kids over night (hell, for more than just a couple of hours!) And man did I need it!!!! I really wish I could have stayed the whole weekend. I went with some girl friends. I definitely want to do that more often!

WELLLLL......I had a fab weekend a few weekends back....Went out to dinner and drinks with my 2 best friends, laughed so hard my sides hurt!!!......THEN Saturday I was able to go to my SIL beauty salon and have a back massage and delux facial....AND THEN Saturday night Andy and I got to go out for dinner together AND went to a friends 40th afterwards, WE DIDNT GET HOME TILL 4am!!!!!

Now I know that sounds like a dream and it was, but the last time I had left the house without kids was back in December and the last time Andy and I had time ALONE was ummmmm December when he proposed to me......SO WE WERE DUE for some time.....AND IT WAS SOOOO GOOD.....Its just a fluke it all happened on the same weeked....:)

I cashed in some of my mother's day gift certificate at a spa last weekend. It was divine. I had 4 whole hours all to myself!

I flew by myself to my sil and bil's house to help them with their newborn. I was gone four whole days without kids, it was awesome!

my last get away was saturday night. After DH's escapades- see my vent thread- I definitely needed a night out. Went with a girlfriend shopping then to cheesecake factory for dinner, drinks and dessert! Sooo yummm! and made a huge difference! I have a hair appointment this friday which is my next time off- but I took a half day off work to go. And we have a wedding saturday night. night out and dressed up- here we come!

Nat, I'm like that too. I think about them and wonder what they're doing, how whoever is watching them is doing, etc. But yeah, it's like the second I come back I'm like yep, back to the same ol'!

The last time I had adult only time was about 3 weeks ago when we went to see a play in Stratford-Upon-Avon called King John (Shakespeare).... We're off on Saturday to Hampton Court Palace too as they're having a classical gala festival so we're going to enjoy champagne and a picnic and listen to some beautiful music!

When Noah was 6 mos old my husband and I went to TX to check out a job that was available (the place we were working at was closing and my husband was offered a job in San Antonio) I took off the outfit Noah had on when I dropped him at the sitter's house and cried while holding it on the plane ALL THE WAY THERE and cried myself to sleep every night (we were gone for 2 1/2 days) while sleeping with it... I about had a nervous breakdown! I kept thinking that the friend of our's who was watching Noah would drop him, not hear him when he woke up at night... I swear I called like every hour!! ANYWAY the point to this story is that it's a great accomplishment when I leave this kid for longer than an hour... I know... I'm a freak! LOL

No your not a freak....I was like that with my babies at the beginning (especially when they are that young)....the more you have the easier it is to leave them Smile

My first night away from my youngest was horrible, all I did was think about him and talk about him, txt my MIL to see if he was ok....AND he was 8mnths old by then....

I spose Im also a bit accustomed to it to, as my husband and I split when my daughter was 2 and he has had shared custardy since then, so I was used to every second weekend without her which grew to half the week and every second weekend, without her......

Now with all the kids getting older, when they go to my MIL its a lovely break, I know the kids are having a blast with their grandparents, they love them soooo much.....So its like a break for the kids too....

Dont worry it does get easier....:)

Yeah, the older they get, the easier it is. We left ours with my parents for a weekend last year and while I didn't worry at all about my son, I worried my parents wouldn't know what 15 month old Noel would want because they didn't know how she communicated. It went fine, but that was my worry at that age.
With bfing, I never left my kids over night until they were over 1.

Now I feel like a freak- haha- I still havent left Tommy over night since he was born. I am not sure how well I could sleep not being with him. I have no plans either for us needing to be gone overnight. I know I am just postponong the envitable but I just cant do it yet.It will probably be when I have to have another baby that I leave him. - and no not PG!
