35 wk appt tomorrow

I have my 35 week appointment tomorrow. I'm having the GBS test and iron checked tomorrow. I'm hoping the doctor says that I won't go an entire month (I have one month exactly today) and that I'm dilated. One can dream right? I'm tired of feeling like she's sitting on my lap when I sit down and the urge to pee my pants every time I move.

Good luck!!!
I'm GBS +, so whenever labor starts I have to go in right away... unless of course it ends up being a c/s and in which case they'll take care of it then I guess.
I hope you are doing well with dilating and your body is getting ready.
Fingers crossed!!!

hey Squirrel......you only have to get there in time for the antibiotics to get administered. i think its 2 hours prior to delivery. so you do't have to rush to the hosptial at teh first contraction. if you're going for a VBAC you don't want to do that anyway. labor at home and then head out when you think you're around 5cm.

Hmm my doc told me it was 4 hours ... or soon after my water breaks. I'll have to double check at my appt today. lol

Update 35 week Appointment

Everything is looking great. Lizzie is measuring perfectly and he says she weighs aroun 6 lbs 6 oz. Had the GBS test now waiting to do blood work.

My bp was 110/70, which is great since it was so high earlier in the week. I was told to drink more water, stay out of heat and keep granola bars with me.

What made me so happy was when asked when I needed to give him our birth plan. He asked what it was ad when I told him, v-birth, no episodemy, skin to skin and hubby wants to cut the cord, he said that's my birth plan. He said he seldom induces and will go slow and make me stop pushing when needed. He said he does natural births and hates to induce.

Love your birth plan. i have basically the same types of ideas too though i havent seen my doctor in 2 months. most of my appt are with his assistant (who i like better). this just made me more comfortable to mention these things lol

How great! It must be such a relief to know that your doctor is on the same page as you regarding your birth plan! Its such a crazy time (for me anyway) the first time around that knowing everybody agrees is great!

Sounds like a good appointment! I'm glad his practice lines up with the kind of birth you're looking for. It's so much easier when you don't have to defend your choices. Smile

I was a little worried he was blowing smoke up my butt by agreeing with me, but one of the nurses agreed, he does everything as natural as possible. He also told me that if I would an epidural and wanted it early to get it. He said if the nurses don't agree or don't go along with what I want to call him immediately. Smile

sounds like he's truely supportive.

just a word of caution with the epidural. try hard not to get it too early. you want to be in a really good pattern yourself. with the epidural your labor can slow down if its too early in and tehn they'll start you on pitocin.

if it does happen and they want to put you on pitocin ask for a breastpump first and see if you can get some natural hormones going for you.

Thanks for the advice. I will remember that. I heard about getting one too early and I don't want to do that. I want to go as far as I can. I am so ready and scared at the same time, lol

Sounds like a great appt! That's great that you have a hands-off doc. Glad she is measuring good!
I agree with what Gretchen said. Just try not to get the epi too early. With my first, I had high BP and had to labor in bed. After 12 hours of that, I got the epi (I was 4 cm). I stalled out and they had to use pit. Everything worked out fine and I didn't have any complications, but I was a little disappointed that I needed the pit. Doesn't happen to everyone, but something to keep in mind Smile
