Allergies

I've never suffered grim allergies before but I think I am now. Congestion and headaches. What are you guys doing to help deal with this? What allergy meds can I take? I need to pick up a sinus rinse and hopefully that will help. Any other suggestions? TIA

the netti pot is an awesome choice.

i believe one of the major brands zytrec or claritin is ok. but i'd ask your doc first.

My MW actually told me that it is not really allergies, unless you had them prior to pregnancy. I did and the changes in weather don't help either. The hormones that cause swelling in the gums and other mucus producing systems in the body are to blame. She said that benadril wasn't going to help much and I can take regular claritn, thats about it.
I have been struggling with this nasal congestion/stuffiness since about 12 weeks, i guess it just comes with pregnancy.

I hope you get some relief.

I have seasonal allergies (in my case it's oak and elm pollen...it's TERRIBLE right now in Austin). I've been taking Claritin, which takes the edge off, but I still feel pretty crappy. I know it's on the safe list, but it will only help for allergies, not pregnancy induced rhinitis.

My dr said zyrtec and claritin are both ok, I know mine is allergies but made worse by the dry sinuses caused by pregnancy. zyrtec helped a bit. Saline nose spray might help too, just moisten it.
I am not looking forward to the weather getting hot and the dry sinuses leading to nosebleeds, not fun.
