anybody else's...

braxton hicks contractions picking up in frequency and strength? Over the past week, they have not only gotten stronger (still not painful but definately tighter and spreading further down into my pelvis) but are also becoming more frequent (sometimes as many as 6 a hour, but they aren't regular, I can have one and then have another ten minutes later, and then another five minutes later, and then another eight minutes later, etc.). I didn't notice this with my previous pregnancies, I mean I had BHs but they weren't this strong and I didn't notice them noticably start picking up like this... my body gearing up maybe?

It's funny that you mention this because mine have actually all but disappeared. I had one really strong one at work yesterday then today another one, but that's about it. I used to have them frequently in the evenings, but even after walking I didn't have any yesterday. Weird.
Maybe your body is really gearing up to have this baby earlier than your other two. Hopefully they will start doing something soon and make for a quick, easy labor.

I'm not having any at this point. I was getting some every once in a great while, but nothing now. Yesterday I was crampy on and off all day, but that seems to have just been yesterday.

I had them a few times a day ( 3 or 4 maybe) for a few weeks and even some real contractions, I say this because they were taking my breath away and spreading from one area and hurt, with my BH they are always are just tight spots so to speak. But Like PP said, this week nothing? Sounds like yours are coming more on a consistent basis! I don’t know if anyone remembers me posting about a friend who was 25 weeks before she found out she was expecting, but she had her baby early this morning and she was due a week before us Becca. She was complaining about contractions, but because it’s her first, her DH said it was first time mommy neuroticism. So you never know! They even posted it was a false alarm on FB last night after going to the hospital for contractions, and then this morning there was their baby’s picture. But I do suspect because it was soo late when she found out they might have had the EDD wrong from the start. Baby was 5lb 14oz & 18 inches, healthy as can be! I would just be prepared to go early.

My first was 34 weeks 5 days (and I'm positive on her due date, was charting) and she was 5lbs 9oz and went home with me! I've heard of even bigger 34 weekers too.
Mine really picked up today, but I think I overdid it, they've been coming very frequently all afternoon (every 5-10 minutes) but they aren't getting stronger or closer so I'm hoping sitting and resting will help.

If I am getting them I have no idea b/c I have not felt anything. I am almost envious of you getting to "practice".

I am having them a lot, all day every day. They are only for me when baby fights them and is trying to push against my belly as I am having one, thats painful and uncomfortable.

yes yes and yes...had mild ones last pregnancy along with others that created change (was hospitalized at this point for a day to stop them and was 2cm)

This time I am having tons...and over the last few days/wk I'm having maybe 10 a day that hurt Sad The rest are just either uncomfy or tight. I go to the perinatologist on Tuesday and will say something to him. He ckd my cervix length last time and it was 3cm at 28wks. Acceptable length he said but the shortest he wanted it. I'm sure they will chk it again.

I've had the odd one, but not nearly as many as you guys mention. If I have one every few hours I'm impressed... lol.
I'm actually just starting to recognize them again - I havent had much to speak of so far this time around.

YES!!!! I just told dh this last night, after a "bh" brought some tears to my eyes! They are spreading down lower into my pelvis not just on top of my belly anymore. and a few I haven't been able to talk through but they are far from consistant. I've also been a bit more crampy feeling than normal....I know this baby is coming early......dh is SO in denial! lol

Mine are doing the same thing! I am on super high alert, making sure they arent getting regular...becuase with everything thats happened, i could go at any moment! I hit 36 weeks on Thursday, so as long as i make it to then, then she can come at any time as far as im concerned....but these BH's are getting ridiculous!
