Back and still pregnant :)

So basically when I went in yesterday I was having contractions, but mostly showing an 'irritable uterus'. I told the nurse I had a few leakage incidents, and didn't think they were pee, but wasnt sure. She used the paper strip to test....yellow was neg for fluid, blue positive...well don't you know mine turned green Smile She said generally that means there was fluid residue still there from an earlier leak, but the membranes were not fully ruptured. After several hours I was allowed to go home, but put on bedrest as much a possible/pelvic rest etc. They told me to keep an eye on fluid leakage and to come back if a bigger gush should occur. I also found out that I cannot deliver at this hospital intentionally (only if I am deemed to dilated to transfer) until I am 37 wks because they do not have a nicu. The closest hospital that has one where I would have to be sent is more then an hour away...even more to stress about now! So I am trying to hold this baby in here for awhile, and think I will be able to, as long as my water holds.

Today I took my daughter to daycare, which has graciously agreed to an extra day a week now so she will be there 3 days a week instead of 2. She can't get in full time again until Aug. 22 bc of the summer schedule being different. I took a nap from 11-2 and when I got up went to the restroom. I was walking out to get a drink to bring back to my room and had another leak spring. It wet through my pants but was prob only 1/4 cup? hard to tell but not a huge gush for sure. I have an appt. Thursday with my ob and I'm hoping he will order a fluid scan to make sure the level is still ok at this point if it's been leaking.

It was also my birthday yesterday and this little lady made it eventful!

Oh Anne,

Yuck, I hope you can deliver closer to home, tell that girl to BAKE! The springing leak term did have me laughing though. Sometimes its so hard to tell because of other “normal” fluids…Hope they do order a fluid scan just to give you peace of mind! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!

Oh wow, I wonder if you have a hole and depending on where the baby's head is putting pressure, it leaks. How nerve wracking! I hope you can hold your little one in for at least three more weeks.

Happy Birthday!

What an eventful birthday for sure! I hope she bakes a bit longer so you can deliver at the hospital close to you. That would be so frustrating for you if you had to go that far.

And Happy Belated Birthday!!!

Yikes!! What a pain that must be to leak every once in a while. That little baby better continue to cook so you can stay closer to home. And its nice that your daughter goes 3 days a week to daycare now to give you some time to rest!

Oh - and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

This is what I'm thinking too about the hole. Same thing happened with DD, but it was a larger amount. I went to hospital like 3-4 hours later and they took a sample and looked at it under microscope. Started pitocin and needless to say 2 1/2 days later (all on pitocin) they realized not all of my water was broken and I ended with a c-sec anyway!
