We had a bit of a scare this morning.
Our last pregnancy was lost at 8 weeks and it was terrible and I don't just mean the loss...the entire experience. I called the Dr. when I saw the smallest spot of blood and had some cramping. He told me to go to hospital where they left us to sit in the waiting room while crying and bleeding profusely for 6 hours. By the time they got around to helping us it was over and the pain was gone.
This morning I had pain so bad I was lying on the floor of the bathroom crying, naked and rolled into a ball (but no blood). I thought it was gas but could not imagine that gas could be so painful. I called the m/w who said to go to hospital so off we went (to a different hospital).
The hospital was wonderful. I had to go to the ER b/c we are not yet 20 weeks so insurance will not pay for us to go to the Labor & Delivery wing. Everyone was so caring and quick to offer me pain meds and water and DH was offered coffee. I declined the meds and said that I would stick it out and see what happens.
They did an U/S and all looks super. The "pipes" are clogged and that is what was causing the pain. The Dr. told me to take some magnesium citrate and that would help get things going. The technical diagnosis is "pregnancy".
They changed EDD from 8/30 to 8/23, heart rate is 145 bpm, baby is quite the mover and is 9 oz. They also told us she is a SHE!!!
We are so happy and I just had to share. Thanks for reading.
