Just curious - how long was it until you could lay down in bed without being uncomfortable? I don't mean getting into/out of bed but actually sleeping.

Hmmm, sorry, I don't remember that part. Rolling over was tough, but that was a tail bone thing - otherwise it was just the getting up/down that was hard. I hope you are feeling better soon though, I can't imagine being uncomfy while just lying in bed. :/

probably a week or so. I got one of those postpartum support things and that helped a ton. I didn't have it at the hospital or think of it the first night home, but when I did use the next night I was actually able to get comfortable enough to sleep.

It took me much longer to recover from ds1 section than I did this time. The difference is that this time i had a girdle thing they had me wear at the hospital starting 24 hours after my section. I seriously cannot tel you how much that helped. If you can get one, do it.

i DEFINITELY second the belly binder. They are incredible for support. My nurse said csecs are diff then any other abnormal surgery bc there used to be something large there that.isn't now so the muscles are stretched and unable to provide the support u need when using them. The binder helps that (and personally I think helps flatten tummy faster!).

Back go ur original question....I'm a Wk n two days out from mine and I'm still a bit uncomfy laying on my sides. Im having internal Sharp pains closer to my hips n my ob said its the internal incision as it is much larger then the external one.

Thanks for the responses. I do have an abdominal binder that I have been using but it's still uncomfortable to lay down. It seem funny to me that it's more uncomfortable to lay on my back than on my side though. I'll spend a few more nights in the recliner - I think DD prefers that anyway since she can sleep on me!
