Canker sore in kids?

Alex, who turns 4 on 10/2 has been getting canker sores lately. Anyone know how to treat or prevent this? I'm going to go today and pick up some Orajel or something but what is causing this? Is it something I should take him to his pedi about?

My dd was getting them a few months ago and I realized she was sucking on the inside of her lip when she was really focused on something. It may be from something as simple as that?

For me they are caused by stress and physical trauma (biting cheek, picking at piece of skin on lips, etc.) or too much acid (OJ or pineapple).

How is Alex doing? Did you call pedi? What did they say?

I didn't call his pedi. I changed his vitamin to one with higher folic acid. We'll see what that does. I don't really see him biting his lip or cheek or anything. Maybe he does it at night?
