DH heading back to Urologist today (XP)

Dh had his vasectomy on Friday. During the stitching up portion on one side, "something snagged". He wasn't sure if it was internal stitching or external, but it hurt SO VERY BAD he said. Over the weekend, one side healed, the other got worse. Today he's still REALLY swollen on one side and the stitching site actually started bleeding. So they said they want to see him. My dad is being a very nice man and driving him the 3 hours to the urologist and back. They are probably going to redo the stitching and give him an antibiotic. He's not super worried about it, but I'm feeling guilty. MIL is being very supportive and says that I shouldn't feel any more guilty than he would if I were pregnant and had complications from that. We both decided on the big-V, just as we both decided on each of our pregnancies. and it's nobody's fault. simply a complication.

Here's hoping they can really help DH and that after this he's all done with them and doesn't have to repeat anything else.

I've already told him that if the vasectomy doesn't take that I won't make him repeat it, that I'll just schedule getting my tubes tied. Sad

So DH is in a good mood this evening. I called him to check in. He said the doc said he's fine. Everything looked like it was healing where the stitches are. He said that there's no infection, just inflammation longer than usual. They switched anti-inflammatories on him and told him to take more than the suggested over the counter amount. He says he's feeling better this evening. Thinks he shouldn't have been sitting in his office chair at work yesterday and that it made it probably made it worse. But it should have healed mostly by then. It's most likely taking longer because of the "snag" that happened.

Hopefully it'll keep getting better for him.

That's good news. I was scared when you talked about this cause my DH is going to get it done as well. but he's terrified. so now that its summer he's probably not going to do it either. doesn't want to loose any fun time because of healing. Sigh.....
LOL...though if we actually had "adult" time more than once every couple of weeks i might be worried. but i'm too tired..... or he is.....or he's grumpy. LOL....

Healing time typically is only a couple of days. My DH got screwed. Lol

And, we don't DTD very often, either. The doc gave us a rough estimate of how many E's it takes to "clear the sperm out", and I'm thinking.. unless DH helps himself out, we're gonna hit that number by the END of summer! LOL

I'm glad it's nothing. Most people are sore for a week or two if the urologist does it right. Hopefully he recovers quickly.

He's pretty much back to normal now. He was up for dtd a few days ago and last night took the stitches out cause they were bugging him. They were supposed to dissolve "within a couple of weeks", but he said they still felt like fishing wires and kept poking his legs.
