Easier to burn during pg?

So I was out at the pool today after church. I of course slathered DS with sunblock. We didn't plan on being out for very long, we were only out in the sun for maybe 2 hours but I am burnt to a crisp! I didn't wear sunblock because I wanted to get a little color on me and I knew I'd get a little red but not like I did. Am I more sensitive to the sun during pg?? I mean I am RED!!!! I know it's my own fault for not wearing sunblock but I was just not expecting to get this burnt.

:lurk:
I think I read somewhere that your skin is more sensitive during pg... And I totally believe it!! My skin is fairly dark, so I have had maybe 2 or 3 sunburns in my life, only on vacations in warmer places, and never bad enough to blister or peel. I actually burned so bad I peeled this year... In May! There was still snow on the ground, and it wasn't even really sunny. So I have been very diligent about the sunscreen since. Hope you feel better soon!

Yes you can be more sensitive to the sun during PG, I read about it, after i myself burnt on a 70 degree sunny day where i was only out for 45 mins. I guess it has to do with hormones.
I was really mad because I didn't even notice until right before bed, and i was pretty pink.

so slather up ladies. I wear sunblock religiously now, but more so since I found out my grandma has skin cancer.

use loads of aloe, I hope your sun burn heals fast.

Yes - you are more sensitive to the sun while prego. Every time I have been out in the sun even just for a little bit I have gotten pink to the point where people comment on it.

Okay, so does vinegar really work on sunburns? Just plain white distilled vinegar?

I got a super bad burn once and the ER told me to use milk. They said to wet washcloths in milk and put on me and let dry for 30 minutes and then wash off.
