Food....

How is everyone doing in the food department? Are you still feeling sick? Ravenous yet? Struggling with healthy choices? What are you craving?

With my previous pregnancies, I was eating a lot by this point. Always hungry. This time, nothing really appeals to me. Especially if I cook it. I feel I have to almost make myself like something. Once I start eating, I normally enjoy it. I am just not that hungry. I am so thankful I am not puking anymore, but healthy things that I normally LOVE seem disgusting.

Craving for the day: Quiche. I just made a bacon cheddar quiche for breakfast and ate a lot of it. It was nice to actually want to eat something Smile

I'm not doing so well again. Sad I had a few weeks where I pigged out, gain 10 lbs. in 4 weeks (10 lbs. total pregnancy) and now I have no appetite again. Sad Doctor says he thinks all the weight I've gained is baby but baby is measuring fine so I may actually *knock on wood* go this entire pregnancy only gaining weight from the baby, fluid, and placenta. I feel fine so I guess I'm not in "need" of anything, just not very hungry.

I havent really had eating issues so far at all, but i havent really noticed much of an increase. Ive only gained 9 lbs so far, so im pretty much all baby. I keep wondering if I am eating enough, but my DR doesnt seem to concerned. I'll tell you though...i cannot stay away from deli meat!! I know we are not "supposed" to nowawdays...but the chances of getting sick from it are so low...plus its only from restaurants like Subway/Quizno's, where their food is regulated like crazy! I havent eaten any from like the grocery store where they cut their own meat or anything...

My only serious craving is Slurpees and popsicles. Maybe that why i havent gained too much...im eating frozen water all the time lol.

It's so funny that this topic was brought up and as I am reading it I'm eating a whopper from BK. Lol!!!!! On Easter sunday we went to have breakfast at IHOP after service and I ordered the ultimate steak omelet(which also comes with 3 pancakes). I was so busy talking to my DH and DD, that I didn't notice how much I had eaten until my DH said well I see someone was hungry. When I looked down at my plate there was only 1/4 of the omelet left and 1/4 of the pancakes. I just figured that I was very hungry because I only had 1/2 of a granola bar before we left for church which was around 7am and we were just really having a meal at around 11:30(because we decided to stay for the 2nd church service).

But for the last few days I have noticed that my appetite has picked up alot lately. Today I had every intention on eating something healthy but as you can see the whopper won out. Lol.:D

And speaking of popsicles and slurpees....those are my favorites along with the cherry and strawberry limeades from Sonics.

My OB's office says that deli meat is fine as long as there isn't a known outbreak of listeria in your area or the brands that you eat. I eat it whenever I feel like it too. Oh, and Subway's Oven Roasted Chicken Breast is something I can always eat even if I feel yucky.

That's what I thought. I have a co-worker that told me that her doctor told her to stay away from it because of the nitrates.

Yeah, I wouldn't eat it every day because of that. Like anything, moderation is always good...

I did very well with eatting until the last few weeks. I have been eatting more and more bad foods. I really need to get it together. The funny part is I am hungry but don't feel like eatting. I want the food but then feel miserable afterwards.

Boar's Head makes some nitrate-free meats. Smile I eat their turkey, but I do heat it up first.

I'm having trouble making good choices. Just yesterday at Costco I bought a box of 40 ice cream bars and ate one before I was even out of the parking lot. Oops! I've only gained 7 lbs though, so I'm not too worried yet.

That's what I read in some of the info that I received from the initial visit to the doctor. So that's what I was doing and her response was "I dont know about that. My doctor said to stay away from them because of the nitrates."

@joysiloo.....thanks for that info. I wasn't aware of that.

I'm in the ravenous department... especially at lunch. Most days, I eat 2 microwave dinners, or 2 orders of something from the Caf, or a REALLY big thing of leftovers from home. It just depends if theres leftovers or not. lol... I'm still not a big eater in the morning, but I'm trying to get something into me each morning. Usually a big glass of juice and a muffin or something smaller like that. I eat lots at night too, but end up finishing dinner with a few tums! Blah!

Cravings for me tend to be carb related - breads, pasta, potatoes, etc.
Saturday of the long weekend my parents had us over for brunch. I ate 5 poached eggs, 3 pieces of toast, 1.5 muffins (Split one with DH) and 3 glasses of OJ. And then still ate lunch and dinner.
My mom was like  lol

Milk, milk, milk. That's all I drink and want. I'm glad I don't get sick anymore, but occasionally I get sick. Aim trying to make healthy decisions but sometimes that isnt't easy when craving a burger and fries Wink

Def going to have to try that. Some days, sandwiches are the only thing that actually sounds good and isn't too much trouble to fix.

My appetite has really picked up lately. Not really craving anything, I never did with ds either. We got Papa Murphy's yesterday and I ate like 4 slices. I normally only eat 2 but it was so yummy!

I'm having a real tough time with the eating. Not being at home, my MIL doesn't cook the same way I'm used to eating. Sad Makes eating tough. She's on WW, so getting the foods I want into the house is a problem too. She is more the kind to go to the store every day to get the food for dinner that night, whereas I want choices in the house available to me. Sorry for the mini-rant, I'll stop now - but it is really annoying. (Hubs made dinner for me last Fri when he visited, YUM!)

I crave the carbs - potatoes/pasta. I also crave eating out, mostly b/c I can. Where I live there are no chain restaurants at all, so to have them available makes them kinda irresistable (sp?). My dr. has not ever said anything about my weight gain, or lack there of, and the trips have always been on target or bigger when measured, so I'm just moving forward same as always. As far as the frozen water - yummo. I've been going through the Dole Fruit Bars like crazy!

3-o-me, I would think you probably need to eat whatever you can, especially protein and carbs. Tell your MIL you are eating for four and you need FOOD!

I am having trouble too. Food just does not appeal to me most of the time. I have gained 9 lbs so far and Dr. said I am good so...

Have a great day!

I just got another perscription for pheragan for nausea- most of it is due from acid reflux and most days taking that medicine covers me, but other days not so much. Puking in the mouth is gross!

Weight wise it's not slowing me down much though lol I think I've gained 10lbs so far.

Amazingly I have had no issues lately with food since the ms went away, just doing my best to eat healthier, packing fruit, yogurt, veggies to snack on at work. The one thing I have been craving the most is lemonade, I drink a lot of it.
Looks like I'm already up 18lb but considering I was under 100 when I started I'm thinking I'm ok, with dd I gained 35, all right in my belly.
