Hobbies??

What do you ladies do as a hobby? Lets share some pics of what we do Smile

I used to decorate cakes on the side - I've cut back for now since I've got the little guy and another one on the way. I bake more now instead of doing cakes. I do them a little here and there.

This was for a benefit for another friends father - he owned the general store in his town

My friend always wanted a Coach bag - so I made this for her Smile

This was a wedding cake for friends of ours

This was my first attempt at making sugar bottles. It was for a friends 30th birthday

This was my cousins grooms cake - it traveled about 13 hours and made the trip!

I'm a knitter, but I haven't had time to knit since I've been in school and have a child. Here's a sweater I knit and embroidered for Daphne:

And a hat:

Joy - that hat is absolutely adorable!! The sweater and the hat came out great! If I didn't know you made them, I would think you bought them at the store!

I just learned how to knit! I crochet. Not a ton but I do. I'm a horrible mom and never got around to making a blanket for ds so I'm thinking about making him a big big one and then making this baby one. I also do a little scrapbooking but I'm not very good. I would love to get into photography but I don't have a nice camera and they are pretty expensive. I didnt have any pictures of my crochet but I can take some!

I sew a little and also crochet. Will have to take some pics of things I have made for the baby. I started a diaper bag, then a shopping cart cover, also wanted to make a high chair cover, have yet to finish any of them...should do that soon.

Yes please! I'd love to see some pictures of your stuff! I don't know how you ladies crochet! Or sew...I'm seriously all thumbs when it comes to that stuff. I couldn't sew/knit/crochet to save my life!

Wow! Love, love the cakes! The knitted items too. I mostly write poetry when the mood hits me. As far as knitting, always wanted to learn. I crochet a little. Never really made anything. I can sew a little but haven't in a very long time. I just informed my daughter a few days ago that I wanted to make/personalize burping cloths for the baby and she said she would help. So excited about doing that.

Those cakes are FABULOUS!! I knew how to knit when I was a teen, but have no idea now. I'd like to learn, but also kinda figure I spend enough $$ on fabric. I like to sew. I took the two quilt tops I had completed and had them quilted by a friend so I can hang them on the wall in the nursery.

My mom helped me with a third quilt while she visited. I sent what we didn't get finished to her to finish for me since hubs took my sewing machine back home. His way of making sure I wasn't doing too much while here. lol

I would post pics - but no matter how I pull the url for the pic from flickr it doesn't work. argh.

My hobbies have taken a backseat since we moved 6 months ago. I learned to crochet after DD was born and have made several hats. I'm going to make a few newborn hats and also some diaper covers for when this baby is born. I also like photography and started learning how to sew.

love your cakes!

My hobbie is collecting and cleaning up vintage 80's toys, but really my love is for My Little Ponies, I have a huge collection.
Oh and I love Hello kitty, I am such a kid at heart.

I also used to make Dream catchers.

here is a pic of my favorite pony and my only mint on card pony from the 80's

And the Dream Catchers

Those cakes are amazing, so is the little sweater and hat and dreamcatchers! I don't really have a hobby either but dabble in quite a bit: I quilt a little (when I have time), I scrapbook (not digi but with an actual scrapbook), and I garden. Gardening is what I keep up with most and I'll have some pix as soon as it quits raining and everything is in bloom. Smile

Chris - I LOVED my little pony when I was younger! I LOVE that heart dreamcatcher you have!

Becca - I'd love to see pics of the garden. I have a brown thumb and pretty much every flower/plant/tree I touch dies Sad I can absolutely appreciate a garden since I know how hard it is to keep things looking good!

To all you ladies who knit/sew/crochet - good for you! I'd love to have a functional hobby - one that would result in something useful like clothing or a blanket of any kind. If you ladies get any pictures, post them! I love looking at all the creativity!

Kerri - OMG!!! Those are AMAZING!! I absolutely LOVE the maternity pictures! That was what I wanted for our maternity pictures when we had them done. A friend of mine asked if she could take them (for free) for her portfolio and I agreed, but I mentioned I was looking for more of an 'artsy' style to the pictures. I didn't get anything close to 'artsy' and was pretty bummed when I finally saw them Sad I seriously scrolled up to see if you lived ANYWHERE near me so you could take our pictures this time around! Absolutely stunning. Seriously...stunning.

Awe thanks! I guess those 8 years of bieng a photojournalist paid off.

It was nice to use my SIL as my first test subject. I could boss her around, lol. I plan on starting my own company. So I love the feedback.

Steal my ideas or show her the photos and have her take some like that. I really want to do some outdoor shots of them but it was too hot and I was getting tired myself. Good luck. If I lived closer, I would totally do them!

I definitely think you'd be way profitable if you started your own company!

As far as she goes - I had showed her some pictures of what I was looking for. She doesn't have the eye for it and wasn't able to replicate it. They were more portrait style...nothing artsy Sad My hubs actually said about taking my silhouette and she hadn't even thought of that and then he had to set it up with the lighting and the backdrop to get the right effect.

If you lived closer - I'd have you booked ALL the time!
