Let's Talk Breastpads!

What are you using? I am soaking my sheets almost everynight and really need to fix this problem as I am TIRED of washing sheets! I'm looking at Bamboobies and Lily Padz... anybody used them? Can you really wear Lily Padz at night without your bra? Also, what was that brand that collected your milk at let down? Milkies? Opinions on those? Also, what brand bras? I cannot find one that will hold my breasts in at night when I'm laying on my side, lol. One falls out and therefor the leaks all over the place when he's having his night-time nurse and that side let's down. I'm never fully awake enough to hold a towel or something over it so yeah... TIA ladies! Smile

Yes, Milkies is the brand that collects the milk. I researched them when i was pregnant, seems like most things they got mixed reviews. No advice though, i dont have that problem. i am jealous that you DO have that problem LOL Smile

I wear the sleep bras from motherhood maternity which work well for me at night. I've only ever used the Medela disposable pads so I can't comment on the others.

I leak a lot...I haven't found one brand of cloth nursing pads that can actually hold an entire night's worth of leaking so I've stocked up on Lansinoh pads. I love them, they are thin and super absorbant. I can't speak for many other brands, I believe the only other one I tried was Gerber and those were awful, stiff and not very absorbant

I have lilypadz but did not find them helpful at night bc they tend to peel off when u get engorged then when u have a letdown they totally POP off. During the day they work fine even w out a bra just wearing a tank. At night I use lanolin brand or nuk brand I think w a tank....works well! I wouldn't think milkies would work at night moving all around. They r just for letdown on opposite side while nursing then u take them off when ur done nursing.

I have the same issue with falling out of a sleeping bra. Sad But I have to focus to really get a good latch, so I just hold the nursing pad on the other side when let down starts. I have a really painful let down still and so holding myself helps the pain anyway.

I don't leak as much this time around as I did. In fact, the lansinoh pads I use are so great at wicking it away that I don't even realize there's any milk in it and I forget to change it and assume it's dry.. until I smell the sour milk and get disgusted and have to go wash myself over the sink.

I was gonna buy lily padz tomorrow (pay day). But I know some women who leak so much that it pops off for them, so I didn't buy them last time cause I'd have to double up on pads to keep my bra dry.

I wear a nursing tank from Target for sleeping with the pads in them and change them each time we get up at night. The tank is pretty tight so it feels good to wear also.

LOL I hold the nursing pad on during let down at night, too and it helps b/c I, too have a painful let down. I am also using the Lansinoh pads right now (just started the other day) and you are right, they are so great that I forget they are wet until I smell soured milk (yuck) and have to go change/wash, lol. These pads seem to be working well for me so I'm prolly gonna stick with them. Smile

I don't have a leaking problem this time around, but did with the first three. I would leak so much milk with the LilyPadz that it would just fill up quickly and pop off, like a water balloon popped in my bra, lol! NOT good, especially in public. But I do have the boob falling out issue. I loosen my bra a ton and it just kind of sits on top, with the pads loose over my boobs. It's better than being totally out of the cup I guess.
I use Lansinoh, and it was the only brand that wouldn't leak through my clothes (when I had the oversupply issue with the first three).
