MIA - sorry ladies!!

Hey ladies! I've been TOTALLY MIA for a while now. I get on to keep up with everybody, but I don't post Sad Things with us are good...trying to get to summer and enjoy the weather! Mikayla is getting B-I-G! She is in 9 month stuff right now, but we've had to move her up to 12 month stuff with certain things. No crawling yet Sad We put her on her stomach and she almost immediately rolls over to her back. Thankfully she's happy though, so I'll take it! I'd love for her to start crawling in the next month or so, but I don't know if that's gonna happen. Annnnnd - no teeth still! Crazy! I feel like they are right there, but still nothing.

I have a question too actually, while I'm posting. A friend of mine is due on July and she told me about her u/s coming back with the baby having a spot on his heart. The doc told her it could be an indication of down's but her blood work all came back negative. They recommended not doing an amnio since the other tests were negative, but she's nervous. The doc told her the chances of downs was 1/350, and the chance for m/c after the amnio was 1/350 too. Have any of you ladies had any experience with this at all? I'd love to offer her some reassurance...

No experience but I would ask her if it matters if the baby has Downs. IMHO, there is no reason to risk my baby with an amnio when the results aren't going to matter to me either way. It would just mean to me that God gave me a baby to love, an extra special baby to love. Smile

I can't offer you an expereince with what was scene on the u/s. but so many things can change between now and birth.
I agree with the pp post (name drain..sorry) that its in God's hands and everything has a reason.

Sounds like little Mikyla is doing awesome too. Grow baby grow!!

Hey ladies! She wasn't interested in an amnio and in fact had said that she wasn't even considering it. I know there are additional u/s that could be done at a specialist, but I was looking to see if anybody had any experiences that I could pass along to her while she waited to hear back from the doctors. She had said that if the baby did have any problems, she'd want to be as prepared as she could be by the time they were born - as would I in that situation. They both work, and while they have family here to support them, they all work as well. So, if additional preparations were necessary, she wanted everything in order.

Becca - I do absolutely see where you are coming from, but it really wouldn't be my place to ask her what it mattered. She is my absolute best friend, and I'm here to listen and help her out in absolutely any way I can. But it would be up to her and her hubs as to whether or not it mattered if the baby did have Downs.
