Ok, so first YAY to 30 weeks!! i have a checkup today and i plan on askin my dr abot this but..
i am starting to research birth and all that stuff and sad to say, we are not taking birthing classes. just no time. excuses excuses i know, shame on me, but seriusly there is NO time in our schedules. i am just hoping that instincts will get me through LOL anywho, its common that there is a big difference between OBs and midwives. i know enough that i KNOW i would be better off with midwife and a home water birth, however my fear of the pain and potential problems won that debate, and DH like the hospital too just n case. However, i like the idea of my body not being pushed into pushing without it being ready, however i am pretty sure with an epidural that option is out the window. however last night, while watching a zillion videos on youtube (call me gross, but its educational) i came across one that stuck out. he woman had a natural water birth and allowed the placenta to come out naturally. They said that breastfeedings starts the process of sealing off the blood vessels and allows the placenta to detach naturally, which is much bette for mom and baby! they said that woman who deliver in hospitals bleed for 5-6 weeks cause dr forces the placenta out. allowing the placenta to detach naturally causees much less bleeding for mom. it was late i have not researched this further, however i wanted to hear your thoughs. i know we have alot of mommas who go natural with a midwife. Also, what are the chances my OB will be willing to be patient enough to allow me to do this? anyone have an OB that did things the way THEY wanted, nothe way the dr wanted? poor dr, i have had very little questoins so far, and now im gonna slame him
