Pissed off

I had my 28 week apt. Tonight along with my glucose test ...my bp was 99/64 and I've gained 2lbs for a total of 6 so far... I passed my 12 week glucose...and I expect to pass this one my doctor tonight was new to me and she was nice...but she measured me at 40 as compared to my previouse 26 from 4 weeks ago! So she's doing and ultra sound this Monday because she didn't think it was good and it might be me growing and not the baby...I reminded her that my first son was 10 lbs & 6ozs & 22.5" long! (&2 weeks early) So I'm sure the baby is just big but the thing is...I don't feel 14" bigger!!! She just kept talking about my body mass & I'm at a greater risk because of it.....Grrrrr I wanted to punch her!!!:angry4: everything else is normal maybe she just measured wrong? She just made me feel so bad!!!! Like my big body is squishing baby Ben like I don't feel bad enough? :sad:I really wish I went with a midwife!

Oh hon, I am so sorry that happened to you. I don't understand how insensitive some Dr.s can be especially with pregnancy. I would be mad too, like us plus sized women don't realize our BMI??? Oh and just because your big doesn't mean you can't be healthy, and doesn't automatically mean you have every problem under the sun.

I hope your test results proves her wrong!!! Try not to worry I bet you are right and know your body/ babies, try to look at the positive you get to see baby Ben again.
I have read that there is no way you can squish baby.
Just remember you are doing the best you can.

I don't think your weight gain is bad at all, in fact I think it is very good.

That is a big difference in size. Are you sure she measured right?

At least you get to see your baby again - but yea, I would be pissed too.

How in the world could you possibly get that much bigger in 4 weeks?! I'm definitely thinking she measure wrong! Wouldn't you know if you were that much bigger? I feel like you'd notice if you were pretty much the size you were when you were at the end of your previous pregnancy...but I guess its good that you get to see your little one again! Crappy of the doctor to make you feel like poop tho.

Yeah, I agree with PP. She must have measured wrong.

How rude and insensitive. She must have measured wrong and instead of saying so she shifted the blame to you. A positive note though....you get to see baby Ben again.

I think she probably measured wrong as well since it's not an exact science. You would definitely feel that kind of change. I had high amniotic fluid levels at the end of my last pregnancy making me measure 'bigger' than I actually was. I could tell a difference in size from week to week and my measurements varied accordingly.

Wow is there any risk from having excess amniotic fluid?

Thanks for everyones comments... I balled my eyes out and was soo crabby after that. In the long run It is nice to see the baby again. I'm just not a very rational pregnant person sometimes.

Is there such a thing as a rational pregnant person?
LOL!!

:bighug:

I'm sure she measured wrong too. That seems like a HUGE change... even with a big baby it seems wrong. Many doctors have issues saying "I might be wrong..." That doesnt give them an excuse to make you feel like crap though! Sorry you get to deal with that. My family doc is wonderful about admitting if hes wrong - and its something that keeps us coming back to him! Hes very approachable.
On the bright side, as others said, you do get to see baby again. Try not to worry about it too much... and enjoy the extra u/s!
