Question about lady parts-TMI

Is it normal to have a change in smell down there? It's not a bad smell necessarily (I mean not like I like the smell at ALL but YKWIM). It's not a fishy smell or anything like that, just more.......I don't know. DH and I haven't been having sex so I know it's not that. We have messed around but just no intercourse and DH hasn't mentioned anything about it but then again I don't think he would. He may not notice, it could just be my freakish sense of smell.
Anyway....is this normal or anyone else have this?

Also, about lady parts.....I'll be swimming soon and it's beginning to get a bit difficult to keep things down there tream and neat. What are you doing to keep things groomed down there? I have some Nair that I was thinking about using but I don't know if it's safe to use that close to my vajayjay. Not literally ON it but enough to get the hair gone so it doesn't show with a swimsuit.
I'll also be having a c-section and I really do NOT want to have them shave me again so I was thinking about going to get waxed. Just my belly (I have a hairy belly) and then down to my scar line but I don't know if they would since I'm not a regular waxer and things are supposed to be a lot more tender down there. I don't mean getting my woohoo waxed just to my scar line.

Yeah, it's totally normal. Wink I noticed it with my first pregnancy and asked my MW. Then I asked my DH because we were actually fooling around a lot during that pregnancy (not so much this time, ha ha). He did admit it was different, but said it wasn't bad. I also noticed that just my general body oder has changed during my pregnancies. I think it's just a homornal things.

I can still trim up down there, so I'm not there yet. It was easier being pregnant in the winter when none of it mattered, ha ha. I'd probably go get it waxed to be honest. I tend to wax my own bikini line, so for me it woudln't be a huge deal. Also, for you c-section, maybe try getting waxed once or twice before it's time to do it for your c-section? I have a pretty high pain tolerance, so getting waxed has never phased me before. Or maybe just nair it?

I've been waxed before, had a bikini wax and it wasn't so bad. I might start doing that now so it won't be so bad when I actually have the baby. The only thing is the lady I had been going to retired from the business and since I'm plus size (16-18) I felt really comfortable with her. Maybe I could see if she could recommend someone else.

I can still sort of trim down there...but its definitely getting tough for sure. Once it gets too tough for me, I'd have my hubs do it for me if necessary. I'm not a huge fax of waxing...I'd much rather use a razor. The things we do...sheesh. While preggo - and not preggo - we have a bit of up-keep and it sure does get tough with the limited range of motion.

I'm a big fan of waxing - the whole shebang. Just made an appt for next week before our vacation to Myrtle Beach. I'll be keeping it up until delivery.

Yes, but honestly, the bikini part hurts the most. It's not really that bad. I'm a classic PCOSer, if you know what I mean, so I think it's worth it.

Oh yes, I'm a classic one as well but I'm also plus sized. I'm not sure I could work up the courage. Maybe if I wasn't pg and could have a couple glasses of wine before hand!

Like the others have said, I am pretty sure the change in smell is normal.

As far as grooming is concerned, I am trying to debate what I am going to do now. It is time for me to do something but I don't think I will be able to reach/see this time. I have been debating waxing too but I just don't know who does that around here. I am parinoid about staying trimmed, especially when I know someone else will be looking around down there (going to the dr)

With DD I did use Nair. It was OK but my skin was super sensitive down there afterwards.

I think I am going to give shaving/trimming a try again myself and maybe look for a place that does waxing.

@ KerriWeasel....I sweat right between them. Especially at night. I've noticed the change in odor too. But the same happened with my 1st pg and the dr said it was normal and due to hormonal changes. As far as the shaving thing....I do the best that I can with a razor. I would be too embarrassed to have a stranger do it for me especially since I take it all off. I asked DH to help me once and he was very nervous because he had never used a razor before then. So I think I am going to purchase a mustache trimmer and have him give it a go again. Especially before the c-section.

I am also a sweaty pig lately Wink lol
I actually use baby powder - I rub it on my arm pits and under my boobs, and it helps me keep dry. I also put on deodorant after a little bit and both helps keep me fresh and not miserable.

as for shaving, I've resorted to electric razors, as I feel more comfortable with one where I cannot see! lol... As long as its trimmed, Im ok with it.
IMO, the doctors dont (or shouldnt) care about grooming, so long as youre clean. If someone was to say "oh man, she should shave/wax" when I'm in labor, I will bite their head off. LOL!
Last pregnancy DH did end up helping me shave a few times, and it was a bit funny at first but went fine.

I am having troubles with the shaving thing too! I have lost sight of the va-jay-jay, and it makes it very difficult! I am doing what i can by feel for now and Im not doing too awful of a job. my SO knows better than to complain about it (as he is used to having me hairless). My plan is to get waxed like a week before my due date to keep things neat for delivery. I am not going in there like a hairy beast lol

I dont know if i would use Nair so close to there only for possible bacteria purposes. Plus the skin can be so sensitive there it might cause a rash.

A cheap beard trimmer works well. If you have a big mirror that you can use, it's easier. We have a full-length mirror that hangs over the door and I can move it wherever I need to.
