Rant (Please join in!)

I dont know about you ladies but as a pregnant woman, I know I'm going to get big. I'm ok with getting big. I know I will get back into shape after baby is here. What I don't get is why people who know me are SO surprised that I'm this big and *shocker* will even get bigger! It's not even a issue with weight gain, its just that I'm slender to start with, and my stomach gets BIG. Theres nowhere else for baby to grow!!!

I've had SOOOO Many people (mainly coworkers) the past 2 weeks ask "When are you due again?" and I also get the "you look great" but followed by "How much longer do you have"?
My boss even (awkwardly, he's an older man with 4 kids) asked how much longer I had and hinted that if I needed a rest or a day off to take it (I havent had to take a day off while preggo, except for one appt. All the rest I'm able to book after 3, so I havent had to leave work for them.) But I might have to take him up on it... hahaha. But even he started the conversation with "I know you're getting farther along, and that pregnant women sometimes need a break as they get bigger and more tired" or something along those lines. It was awkward, but he did have good intentions.

I'm just getting sick of "Wow you have how much longer" and all the other comments! Yes I realize I'm big. Yes, I will get bigger. Whats the big surprise all about?! There IS a baby inside me!!!!

I think for me, When I left work last time I was about 29 weeks so they never saw me get "really" big. I am now 31+ weeks, and will be 35 when the school year is done (We finish the end of June in Canada) and that still gives me the last month or so off. (And of course the pending Csec might be early... but still)

Edit point: I guess I should post a pic so you ladies get what I'm talking about... lol. I will try to get on that.

Anyone else have a funny or awkward story?! Or just rant in general about things?!

At 22 weeks, DH and I went out to our normal hangout where most of all our friends are and most everyone knows we are expecting, mind you many of our friends and people who frequent the place ages all range from late 40's to well in there 80's. We are pretty much kids to them. Almost everyone is really supportive and excited for us, it will be like baby has tons of grandparents and great aunts and uncles. lol

but one person in particular made me feel like a freaking house, we went out and as this person and her daughter were saying there good byes, very old lady older than my grandma, said to me " Well when the heck are you due?" I responded in August, as i usually do, then she was like
"How many you got in there two or three?" No just one, and then i walked away. I was feeling good at that point because i was finally showing, and she completely ruined it for me.

I guess thats what I get for not going out every week like we used to, I have been kind of in hiding.

Every day someone says - "any day now, huh"

I am like no - I am not due until Aug. Then they are speechless.

But to thier credit, my uterus is now bigger than a singleton pregnancy at 40 weeks.

I either get 'you are so tiny' or 'I didn't even know you were pregnant!' or the complete opposite of 'you are huge!' and 'are you positive there is only one in there??' (which Ill tell you actually drives me nuts because I feel like it's reminding me that there actually was two in there at one point, but the second one didn't make it....uh, some people.

I am so there with you. My mom made the comment about how much bigger I am with this one than with Alex. She also said that she didn't think I'd even make it to July. She always makes comments like that and it p!sses me off.

I really didn't pop till the past couple weeks and before that people were like "I didn't know you were pregnant" and that kind of stuff would make me mad. I mean I'm know I'm plus size but I've been showing for awhile.

Same here. Jaws drop to the floor when I say August. Last night I went out to eat and when we were leaving someone whispered behind my back "how pg is she?" Really?! My sister said she just wants to walk behind me whispering "there's 3". lol

I'm getting really tired of the "oh you have to go through the whole summer and the heat pregnant." Thats what air conditioning is for! Also the you don't even look pregnant other than your huge belly, how is it that I am supposed to look?? I get the due any day now too, to strangers: yep any day. not worth explaining. This time its not strangers that are getting on my nerves, its people I know; telling me what the gender is, that I must be having twins...I'm no bigger than I was with dd at this point, get over it.

i am now getting out of the (annoying to me) "you are so tiny! are you sure the baby is growing ok?" comments to the, "did you swallow a basketball?!" b/c in all fairness, it does look like i'm hiding a basketball under my shirt. i am very self conscious this pregnancy as i don't feel like my belly is as beautiful as it was with my previous children-- it just hangs so low and it looks like i have a weird beer gut or something. Sad i keep hoping that the bigger the baby gets, the more it will move up and look more like a "normal" pregnant belly but it just gets lower and hangs out further. other people notice that, too. i've gotten asked if the baby has dropped before and i think to myself, yep, he's been down there the whole entire pregnancy, i don't think he can drop any further.

Just for the record, I don't think you look weird at all in your pics. I think you have a cute bump!
Thank you! Smile

Oh please I so wan't to Join in

well you are not alone... Tell me if that's the most annoying thing ever.

When are you due?

how much longer now?

Are you serious I tell you people this every week you ask me.
If its that important to you , Then you need to mark it on your calendar.

Then while I'm at church every one stare at me as I walk to the Bathroom like they never seen a Pregnant women .. I mean ok come on now.

ALSO:
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Do people think its ok to touch my belly ???? would you touch it if I wasn't pregnant

This lady at my church started shaking my stomach .. I pulled away and was like STOP
that hurts... I think she got real offended.. But i'm sorry I'm not going to have people shaking my baby .

I really don't like people touching my belly either. I've had women even lift my shirt up and I don't want everybody and their brother seeing my stretch marks!

Ditto everything! I get the whole range of comments- "You're really small" to "Are you sure there's only one?" or "You're going to pop!". The main thing I get is, "Oh, you're so swollen!", "You need to put your feet up more", and "Wow you've got a lot of varicose veins", "Your legs look so painful." Sheesh, I've been through this two times before, I know what to do. If I could sit around with my feet up all day I would, but seriously walking around is the best thing for me right now! I even got, "Don't they have you on a "water" pill yet?" Seriously?! That was like 50 years ago that they prescribed Lasix to pregnant women for fluid retention. They've come a long way since then.

With DD, I got to the point I didn't go to church or in public as much as I'd like because the comments were just too much. I would come home and just want to cry because I felt like such a huge, swollen cow. People just don't think before they say things.

i get the "any day now" comments and they are driving me nuts. every pregnant woman is different and imake sure i tell them imnot due til August cause then they feel stupid for asking dumb questions. I've also had the "are you sure there is only one in there" ALOT. i have even had one ask "are you sure" when i've said nope, only one. i responded, "yes im sure, i've had 3 freaking u/s!!!!"

Luckily, noone had touched my belly yet without asking. when i was getting bloodwork drawn on friday from my GD test a woman was there with her 2 week old and we got into the conversation about strangers that touch babies. God help the stranger who comes up and touches my baby!! Wink

When I was around 3 or 4 months, at work the BFH (*****es from hell) asked me if I was sure. They said maybe you're gaining weight. I asked if they wanted to see my ultrasound pictures.

Now that I am bigger, I get wow, you are pregnant. I got a cheeseburger the other day and was told that wasn't good for me or my baby. Umm, hefer you ate my lunch and used my milk for your coffee. All was marked with my name.

My last day of work was last Friday. I am working from home part-time until the end of June and then that's it. I am leaving for many reasons, 1, day care is too expensive and we can swing me staying home. 2. I plan on starting my own potography studio in the future and 3, I couldn't take it anymore.

The women in a certain department, rule the roost. They switch chairs with our department so we got their broke chairs. (they are not small woman by any means, and I'm a big girl). They eat your food. They would make a huge announcement when I threw up in the bathroom because I had morning sickness so bad.

So of the people there that I was a bit more friendlier with would touch my stomach. I don't know you, please don't do that. It bothered me. Seriously, don't touch my stomach.

The thing that makes me better is my DH fnds me attractive even though I don't. And he tells me how beautiful I look, which makes the evil witches melt in my mind.

I get the same thing from ppl. How much longer do you have? When I say august they reply OH my goodness. I also get the "that baby has dropped" comment. I just agree and keep moving. Someone asked if I was having twins. I said nope just one. Their reply you're going to have a big baby. Comments on swelling as well. I really don't like ppl touching my belly and a friend of mines went on this touching trip. Rubbing my stomach. I was like could you please stop that. It's annoying. My sister does this whole yell at my stomach thing. ANNOYING! Oh and along with the comment about the baby dropping, I get you're not going to make it to august. In my mind I am say " Really? I'm having a csection idiots! So I don't think I will." People can be so annoying and insensitive at times.
