sttn?

who's little ones are still getting up through out the night? and how often? It just depends w/ brinley she is usually up at least 3 times. At her 4 month check she was nearly 16 lbs so I'm thinking she could go all night! She slept better when she was 2 weeks old than she does now? So how much sleep ya'll getting?

Max STTN 50/50. I'd actually rather ne not sleep through the night as it helps my supply if he doesn't and it's not an issue to nurse through the night but sometimes he sleeps straight through and other times he's up twice but very rarely is he up more than that.

He hasn't been doing the best the last week or so but he's still very good for this age. He sleeps until about 6am, I feed him and he goes back down for about 2 more hours? He had been sleeping straight through to 7, which is when we wake up. He was 16lbs 8oz at 3 months, so a pretty big little guy!

Kendra is asleep by 8/8:30 every night....most of the time she sleeps til 5am, but she has nights where she will wake up anywhere from 1am to 3am. my supply is hurting thanks to her sttn too.

well I guess at least my supply is GREAT! She was up at least 5 times last night, most of the time she uses me as a pacifier I think...but my milk ends up coming down and she has yet to turn down food. I'm thinking I might try moving her back into the pack n play. Maybe just the smell of milk being to close is keeping her up? ugh I don't know but I do know I'd LOVE some sleep, even if it means looking like Dolly Parton in the morning! Smile

DD2 is almost 11 lbs. Her final feeding is between 7-9 pm and she goes about 9 hours. She usually eats at 4-7 and goes back to sleep until 8 am. At night she only wakes to eat but in the day time will wake for random reasons.

Lio goes to bed at 730. Wakes at around 1 to nurse. I bring him to bed to sleep then, so he's nursing constantly then until 730. If I weren't so lazy and just put him back in the co-sleeper, he'd probably sleep until 700 when we get up without nursing constantly.

And I have to ask, because I'm genuinely clueless here, why does baby STTN hurt your supply? It's supply and demand, so you'll always make milk while baby is nursing rather it's 3 times a day or 10. I think I don't undestand something, lol.

Brinley is awake most of the day too, she takes roughly 2 mini naps and that's it... I guess she doesn't require as much sleep as momma Sad lol

I'm not sure on the supply issue, I always thought it was a " more they take, more ya make kinda thing" too. Maybe missing the night feedings cuts down on demand therefore cuts down on supply?

up every 2-3 hours still.

after Christmas, we'll be working on crib sleeping. right now she co sleeps and my shoulders wake me up in pain every couple of hours, so I roll over and put her on my other side and that wakes her up enough to want to nurse. here at MIL's, it's just me and her in the bed (DH is home working) and she's only waking me up about 4-5 hours cause I'm not holding her. the extra room in the bed means she can sleep next to me without my shoulders bugging me from her pressure on my arms.

Mikayla is 'sleeping' from about 8:30/9pm to 7/7:30am. Now, by 'sleeping' I mean waking up to where I need to get up out of bed and find her pacifier. Sometimes thats only once, but most nights its multiple times. She isn't eating at night anymore. Her doctor said she weighs enough to not have to eat. I don't know if this is a phase, but I hope that it passes soon! Sometimes she's waking up every hour after like 2/3am fussing so I have to find her pacifier. That's not a lot of sleep for us

Camdyn is sleeping 3 hours at a time max. She wakes about 6 times a night between 8 and 7 am. We co-sleep so it's not a HUGE deal, but I am not feeling as rested as I was when she was sleeping 5+ hours at a time. I am wondering if maybe it's her teeth.
Kilah, them sleeping through the night tells your body not to make as much during the day. If baby can nurse on demand during the day, your body will respond and just keep making it while baby nurses. But when you're pumping, you can only pump every x hours, your body doesn't kick in and keep make as much. Camdyn usually nurses all day after I work my one day a week and it's because my body sorta shuts down when I am at work and only pump once in an 8 hour period. Our bodies are almost too efficient.

I will say that despite going 8pm- 5/7am between feedings my supply is still just fine. I still wake up with rock hard boobs even though he's been sleeping through for a few weeks so maybe my body hasn't adjusted to it? During the day he's eating often, every hour...somtimes as long as 3 but no longer.
He sleeps in his crib in our room all night, and he's still being swaddled.

Ah, okay. I think this makes sense. I've never pumped (well, I've pumped, but that's to relieve engorgement) so I don't really know how all that works. Thank you! That makes more sense to me. Smile

Iwish they would STTN, but they are up @ least 3x a night. Which is OK when they are up together, but when they flip flop times it gets rough!!! The girls are both still small (have 4 mo checkup tmro) so I suppose I will just deal without any sleep!

Lilly doesn't sttn, I can't imagine her ever until she stops BF. she was having good 4-5 hour stretches, when she was in the bassinet, well i never really wanted her in bed with me but i got lazy since Dh stopped getting up with us, I would fall asleep with her at the breast cus she would take 20 to 30 min per side, but then i get crap sleep since i have back problems, and side sleeping starts to hurt even flipping from side to side, plus i would wake every hour just to make sure she was still breathing.
Now she is back to up every 3 hours to eat, since i have her in her crib at lest twice during the night so i get some decent sleep and she doesn't become dependent on sleeping with us.
oh well LIlly never really slept well to being with.

This is totally me and the reason why I am moving her to the crib this week.

I had her sleeping in the crib for 2 nights in a row back when she was 6 weeks old, but then she got a cold and had difficulty breathing while flat, so I had her in the bouncer or in bed on my arm.

But lately, sleeping with her in the bed, I wake up at least once every hour with immense shoulder pain. If I roll over to switch sides, then it wakes her up enough to want to nurse. I'm exausted.

When we got back from Christmas break, I emptied the crib again and cleared enough floor space for the plug-in radiator heater, but I need to empty the rocking chair so I can sit and nurse her in the warmth of her room. I'm hoping to get to that today so that I can put her in the crib for the whole night tonight. Last night she was in the crib in her room for the first few hours, but when she woke up, I just brought her to our bed in our room cause I was too cold to nurse her in the living room.

I am seriously considering putting Camdyn in her bed very soon too. My other two just stayed in our room until they were older, but Camdyn isn't sleeping well at all. I think she wakes up probably every 1.5 hrs. And like you said, Janelle, I wake up with my shoulders hurting and it wakes her up. I think she might sleep longer in a room by herself without us to wake her up.

good luck Janelle, I hope you can get her to sleep at least part of the night in her crib. I am just now starting to get some good sleep, I hope your lo doesn't put up too much a fuss, Lilly still fights sleeping in her crib most nights.
Beth ~ you might be right, let us know what you decide, I hope your lo starts getting better sleep too.

Do either of you have room in your bed room for the crib? Lilly is in our room for now until we can get the renovations done, but it seem to be working pretty good since I can't imagine having to actually get up and walk down stairs or down the hall jsut to reach her.

we have a bassinet in our room, but DH likes it so cold at night that I'd prefer her in her own room with a plug in heater so I'm not freaking over her getting chilled.

So, last night I put her in her crib after she fell asleep on me in the living room about 9pm. She woke about 10:30 and I calmed her back to sleep. DH and I went to bed about 11pm and she woke about 12:45. I nursed her in her room and put her back in the crib (after waking up with a crick in my neck around 1:30 from falling asleep in the rocking chair). She woke again about 2:30 and I brought her to bed until about 5am when her diaper leaked on me. I took her to her room and changed her, then fed her and put her back to sleep in the crib where she stayed until about 8am. At some point during all of this, my almost 3 year old cried for me twice and needed to be calmed back to sleep.

DH was nice and let Evie and I have the bed alone until about 10am and that's when I recovered from my sleepless night. We will try again tonight.

WOW that wore me out just reading it! I hope we ALL get some much needed sleep soon! Smile
