Does anyone else swaddle baby for bed time? I know that blankets are a no no, but Baby Ben sleeps sooo well in a swaddle and they did it in the hospital. Just wondering how everyone is getting their LO's to sleep.

I never did with dd, she hated it. But I have with calvin, he does good with it for when we are laying him down to sleep. Sometimes he wants to stretch out and fights it to get it off his feet. That reminds me, I do have one of those swaddling blankets, I forgot about it, will have to try it out on him.

Funny story about swaddling. The 2nd night we had DS home from the hospital I swaddled him and he slept over 9 hours straight through the night. We woke up at 9 am on our own and I FREAKED OUT majorly!! I never swaddled him after that.

This time around we'll try it . I have some of the swaddling blankets that velcro.

I swaddled DD until she was 7 months old. She just slept SO well swaddled. It makes sense...they're so tight and cozy in the womb, it must be weird for them to come out and move around all crazy when they really can't control their limbs yet.

When she was able to break out of a regular swaddle blanket, I got some Miracle Blankets...they're amazing.

It depends on each baby. Some like it, some don't. If I remember correctly my first liked it, but my other two didn't!

Little girl is not yet here but I got the Woombie to try. I know that I am no good at swaddling from having tried it when babysitting so I got the Woombie to make it easier if she likes it. If she does not, I will sell it on craigslist or eBay or the consignment store here in town.

My first son loved it and I think it led to him sleeping through the night at 4 weeks old. He was swaddled until he was 4 months old. My new son does not like the swaddling process but likes it when he is all done and feels cozy (I swaddle pretty snuggly since I am a post partum nurse and have years of practice ;p ) I really think it helps them sleep better.

DS was swaddled until about 3 or 4 months - we only stopped b/c he would kick so much. Then we bought the sleep sacks that zip up and keep him cozy, and he slept in those until at least 6m. We loved them, and he loved being warm and it made it so we didnt need blankets once he was moving. We'd just do a cotton onesie under it and he was snug as a bug. I plan to swaddle this baby... unless he hates it.

We called it a "baby burrito" Lol
