Weight Loss Vent Thread

How's everyone doing losing the baby weight? Anyone up for a weight loss support/vent thread?
My sister (who had her baby 3 weeks after I had Camdyn) posted on FB today that she's officially lost all of her baby weight. Makes me wanna slap her (not really, but you know what I mean :)).
I personally have been very unmotivated and am still battling with 10lbs from Camdyn plus the 20lbs that I already needed to lose. I'm doing good to exercise 2X/week. Between the three kids and housework, I feel like there's always something else I should be doing than taking time to take care of myself.
I NEED to be healthier and be a better example for the kids.
Anyone else in desperate need of some motivation self-control?

oh me. I haven't really been focusing on weight as much as being physically fit for once. I am stuck, however. I was losing weight and inches, but now nothing. in fact i've gain inches back, even. Sad

I have 6 lbs to lose for pre-pregnancy, but i want my waist back. I have 1 pair of jeans and they are 2 years old and wearing thin, but they aren't being manufactured any more and I can't fit right in any at the store. I'm between sizes and every time I go shopping I end up leaving in tears. Sad

Oy, shopping is not fun for me either. My proportions are totally different than they were before. Jeans NEVER fit right. I've vowed I am not buying any more clothes (I normally LOVE to shop) until I have shrank a size or two.
Good for you on focusing on getting fit. You've got so much going on- you're superwoman for finding the time to get in shape.

I'm down almost 35 lbs with 5 lbs left to get to where I started this pregnancy. I have another 10 lbs to get to where I was before my first /second pregnancy and 5 more to get to where I was before the whole TTC process.

My eating got pretty uncontrolled after my loss and moving across country/NICU stay did not make it better. My goal is to have the calories from BF be my deficit and just eat how I want to eat when I'm done nursing and not trying to lose weight. I did that naturally after my first and lost over 50 lbs but this time I really have to work at it.

I'm also having trouble with clothes. my normal clothes are getting old so I would really like to buy some new things when I get back to normal.

2 weeks ago I was 5lbs away, I've had the flu this week so I'd be surprised if I'm not at prepregnancy weight now. I'm focusing more on toning though, I started kettlebells this month which I'm really liking and I'm anxiously awaiting spring when I can break out the jogger. I didn't really start losing until this month, and #3 was definitely tougher to lose the weight than my first two had been (I was one of those women most women hate, lost it all with #1 in 2 weeks and lost it all with #2 by 6 weeks, imagine my shock going in with 20lbs to lose after #3 and only 8lbs total lost with #4, I mean with a 7.5lb baby, placenta and fluid...really?!?)

My "plan" starting the 30th when DS#2 starts going to preschool Monday and Wednesday mornings:

Monday mornings- I take DS to preschool at 8:45, then head to the gym at 9:15, stretch, run on treadmill, then yoga at 9:45-10:30, then go have lunch with DS at preschool and take him home.

Tuesday evenings- Tabata workout directed by DH's phone tabata timer and his encouragements.

Wednesday evenings- Cardio Kickboxing 6-7pm

Thursday evenings- Tabata again

Friday- Run when DH gets home from work

That's my goal.

i'm 22 pounds from pre-pregnancy weight. what they say about after each pregnancy being harder to loose is so true. Sad
I'm also having logistic issues getting time to exercise. i used to get up early each morning and go jogging before work. i just can't seem to get up early enough with not getting any sleep at night. and usually exercise at night makes it so i can't sleep. And in the afternoons when i'm done working and Eve and i could go for a run then she's usually decided to take a nap. sigh....
so i joined weight watchers 2 weeks ago. down 3.5 pounds in my first 2 weeks. so i'll take it. don't want to hurt my milk supply but at least its a downward trend!

I've been trying to focus on eating and just take the exercise I can get. I find when I put too much emphasis on exercise when life prevents my exercise plan I totally go off my eating plan. I'm doing the biggest loser challenge here. Next challenge I'm going to work on getting more exercise. We are going to get a family membership at our local YMCA march-june. They have free babysitting for members so I want to take advantage of that!

my favourite time to exercise is the morning before DD1 wakes up but I find it too hard with nursing. Once DD2 stops I will go back to morning exercise .

A little over a month ago I went Paleo (no dairy/soy/grains of any kind/sugar/processed food). I did it because it had been suggested to me by a few people to help with Lio's reflux (he was on the strongest reflux meds at the strongest dose, and was still miserable. His pedi was at a loss). It worked! After about10 days, his reflux disappeated - and that was without the use of his meds too! Yay!

But the awesome thing was I dropped like 10 lbs in a month without any exercise, and without hurting my milk or anything. I would still like to lose about another 10, but I'm going to start exercising as well. After I had my DD I did nothing and was 10 lbs less than my pre-preg weight when she was 8 mos. Doesn't seem to be the same ball game this time around, ha ha.

Well, I was having a super hard time losing weight up until maybe a few weeks ago? I've finally started seeing results, but I'm also really watching what I eat and working out again. We've signed up to do a mud run (the tough mudder) in July this year, so I've no choice but to at least work on my strength! It was my goal for this year to be in the same(ish) shape as before my first, so doing the mud run is just a motivator so I don't slack off Smile My schedule for right now is working out Monday night, Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday mornings. I've still got 15 lbs to go. And shopping for clothes - FORGET IT!! Seriously, I'm right there with everybody else. I have a serious need for clothes, but nothing fits right and is flattering. I'm hoping to do some serious shopping soon!

Oh, I know! I felt like I could just take a walk and lose weight a lb with DS. Not anymore....

that's going to be my reward to myself is new clothes (or at least undies) and shirts.

Jamie, that's what i did after DS 2 was sign up for a 5k to keep myself motivated. i'd had all intentions of running one in March (like i did with DS2) but that ain't happening. sigh.....

I definitely need to have a goal like that, Jamie and Gretchen. Running a 5K is a completely reasonable goal, but it takes motivation, which I don't have much of.
I took a jog/walk yesterday and went 1 mile. Today I jogged the entire time and went 1.2 miles. Not much, but it's a start. I feel really bad when I watch "The Biggest Loser" and people who weigh 250+lbs are able to exercise longer than I am.

well... I've got a hitch in my plan. Sad

My pelvis has been hurting. It's RIGHT on the top of my pubic bone and I'm having between the leg pain and going down a short ways down my inner thigh, and back pain. Kickboxing and running are making it worse, so is baby wearing. Sad

It's not completely debilitating in my general life, but I have pain after loading the dishwasher and after sweeping or vacuuming. It just makes me not want to do much moving later on in the day. It's more of an annoyance than anything, but it definitely HURTS when or right after I run or do kickboxing. I am not sure what to do about it. Sad

My first thought is are you doing the moves in kickboxing correct? you're not throwing something out or standing weird?
How are your shoes? are they supportive and not worn out (the ones you wear all day)?

if you palate the area there's nothign sore right? so no worries of anything more serious or out of location?

Take it easy and it will get better.

by the way i finally am on here logged out of work so i can see everyones LOs and man they're all so ADORABLE!!!

No.. def not. I'm new at this and my flexibility SUCKS!

I'm picky and I only use my gym shoes for the gym. I don't even walk in with them, I will not wear my gym shoes outside. LOL

I am guessing you mean palpate? as in press on it? yes.. it hurts like hell when I press, massage, poke, ect. It's VERY tender to the touch.

Lurk from November

I'm using the app My Fitness Pal to count my calories and log my exercise every day, even if all I do is walk for 15 minutes. I've lost 5 pounds already.

Anyone who wants to download it on your smart phone (its free!), feel free to add me JenniBeth410.

All I'm doing is counting calories and doing Moms into Fitness 60 Day Slim Down.

Maybe you just overdid it a little and your body is telling you to slow down? Kickboxing really works all those muscles and ligaments in that area. The pain on the pubic bone sounds suspicious.

I would make an appt with your Dr and get their opinion. There's a variety of things that could be causing the pain. Hope you feel better soon! That sounds very painful.

Really bummed now. I was diagnosed with mono and an enlarged spleen and told I shouldn't work out for several weeks! I was hoping to be back in shape by summer. With being sick I think I'm at my goal weight since I was nwso close but now I'm worried about how out of shape I'll be. Oh well, health first but here's hoping! I figure if I go back in a month and get the okay that March, April and May still might be enough to get where I want to be.

Oh my, I hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself and don't overdo it taking care of your LOs.

Hi ladies, i know its been awhile since I've been on but things have been nuts. I wanted to second what Kilah said about the diet. I had to go dairy free (completely diff from lactose free) for Emily because of a milk protein allergy. I'm down 67lbs since I had her (gained 45 w pregnancy). I couldn't believe how fast it started coming off. I haven't any time to work out since we get up at 5 and often aren't home til 5pm or later. Once the girls are in bed I crash. Even w all that weight gone I still am in a 12 and jeans don't fit well frequently. I'm hoping this summer when I have off (I'm a teacher) I will be able to find a workout routine I want to stick with. I personally HATE working out. My nursing goal is a year but I think w all this weight loss still going on I'm gonna stay dairy free and only make it a very occassional treat. It was hard at first but tolerable now. I feel like its taught me to eat to live as opposed to living to eat. I've always loved food so much, but this has showed I do actually have willpower bc it makes Em sooo sick if i were to give in. If anyones interested is be happy to share more.

I had to go completely dairy free for Evie, too. She's tolerating it a lot more now, but my body is not (bad bathroom issues). The only dairy I get now is the tiny bit of sodium caseinate in my "dairy-free" coffee creamer. I've gotten real good at reading labels and DH has gotten to the point where he won't take me out to eat anymore cause it's too difficult for me to find something I can eat.

I wish this all amounted to me losing weight, but because I was already off processed foods before the pregnancy, my body is just not on cheese and yogurt now. I didn't actually have to cut out too much. But BOY do I miss cheese! Lol

On the topic of my pelvic pain.... I still haven't called my doc. The pain comes and goes. Some activities make it hurt more, but not during the activity. Like baby wearing, doesn't hurt while I have her on, but as soon as I take her off, I'm in pain. Running and kickboxing, though, it hurts WHILE I'm doing it and then it hurts after, too. DH thinks all I need is a chiropractor, but I don't have one that can adjust my pelvis. The chiro I saw at the end of my pregnancy, and then after delivery, has just had his license put on suspension and he can't work without a female colleague in the room now. Makes me glad I only saw him 3x. I don't know of any others in our area and our insurance doesn't have any PPO's within 60 miles of here. They do have physical therapists listed under the PPO's and one is someone I actually know and trust. But I don't know how much the insurance will cover and if I need prior auth or referral. I'm just frustrated and don't feel like I have the time and energy to put into it. Part of me thinks that if I just drop down to mostly yoga, that it'll get better???

Wow I am in here with you ladies. I dont have a scale at home Sad lol butI'm pretty sure I'm easily 15-20 lbs left still to where I want to be and about 10-15 to what I was before getting PG with Orion. my biggest struggle is the bulge/muffin top. I was ok with it after Soren but this time around it bothers me more. And it doesnt help when my mother tells me I need control top pantyhose b/c I am getting matronly... seriously, word for word. Sigh.
My plan was to do Pilates until I was happy with my abs but i have yet to start. The biggest things are time and motivation. Lately Orion is up til at least 1am (hes wide awake after 10 or 11, no idea why) and then sleeps til after 10. The 9hrs sleep is great for him, but withDS1 being sick andme being sick I dont get that whole time to sleep, so Im up late and up early sometimes with Soren, although he has been sleeping late too so we all sleep til 9 or 10 am lol and I dont have motivation to be up at 7 or 8 to exercise. lol I'm doing more than I did after DS1 and am losing less... wtf! lol... sigh. yay second time

To those who are sick or in pain, I hope you feel better soon! :bighug:

Marilyn, I would have been aggravated if my mom had said that to my face! I am sure she says mean things behind my back, but I'd probably let her have it if she told me outright, LOL.
Janelle, be careful. I was just reading some things that indicate Yoga can actually be harder on your body in some ways (stretching things out, but they don't go back).
I've run three days this week, but now my knees are hurting. I know it's from extra weight, but I need to exercise to get rid of the weight. Grrr...

Thanks, Beth for the warning. I'll have to think a while on this.

I went to my chiro today and I felt a LOT better when I walked out of there, but now that the day is almost over, I'm in the same pain I was in. Sad

I'm gonna call my doc to make an appointment on Monday. It just keeps getting worse and worse and I'm not doing anything besides my normal house and mommy duties. I haven't been to the gym in a week and a half (had a cold last weekend). It makes me sad.

Marilyn, I'm so sorry your MIL said that. Very rude.

Since it's not getting any better with rest, I think it's a great idea to check with your Dr. Did your Chiro give you any ideas on what he thought might be out of alignment? I REALLY hope it gets better. I know what you mean about it making you sad that when you can't exercise. My emotional and mental outlook is better when I'm active.
