We're home *updated with birthstory

We got home this afternoon and other than dd being the meltdown queen things are going well. she loves her baby, note the her, yeah she is very possesive of him and jealous if anyone else holds him. She wants to hold him and being touching him constantly. I'm working on getting it so that she is helpful and not just all over him. at the hospital she started melting that she wasn't holding him...so I was able to get her to gather all the stuff to change him and help change his diaper. She felt important and involved and forgot about the meltdown, thank goodness. Will just have to keep doing that when possible.
He is still nursing like a champ but my body is just not producing enough yet so we are supplementing with formula. Poor little guy was doing a great job but wasn't getting results. Hopefully milk comes in tomorrow then things will be good. the good news is that he will nurse, take formula, then nurse again which puts him to sleep, so no nipple confusion and the nursing is comforting him, so I'm satisfied with that.
Well off to sleep a bit, will update with more tomorrow.

I finally finished this, here is a link to his story, on my blog: http://thecanonfamily.blogspot.com/

Welcome Home! I'm glad you and he are doing well!! I hope DD adjusts quickly to being helpful rather than just possessive.

So glad things went so well for you. He's a cutie!
That's funny that your DD is being so "helpful". I'm sure she'll adjust and things will get easier.
Congrats again!

So great to hear that everything is going well! And its nice that your daughter is so in love with him already. I'm sure its hard with her SO all over him, but still so sweet! I hope your milk comes in. We're having some BF issues too, so hopefully we'll all get on track soon Smile

Thank you ladies. Last night went better than the first. He went down at 11 and is asleep still at 8, got up I think 4 times to feed him, changed him twice, but each time he went right back to sleep in his bed. I also slept, more than I have for a while, so I feel pretty good right now. I decided to try that postpartum support thing I bought and I think thats what helped, it is very snug and not really comfortable at first, but I was able to sleep last night without feeling like my guts were going to fall out. Now I don't really want to know how it will feel when I take it off to shower, we'll see.
Have to actually get up and around today, he has an appointment around noon, will update after that.

Glad things are going well. I'll be using some kind of support after my sectino this time. I didn't with DS and I definitely know the feeling that your guts are going to come out. Hopefully this time is better!
