How Are They Doing Now? She is doing wonderful. Fully caught up developmentally and size-wise at 9 months!

Reason For Premature Birth: P-PROM (unknown cause); emergency c-section due to a drop in his heart rate
Medical Difficulties Preemie Indured: frequent apnea/bradycardia episodes, transfusion due to anemia, came home on an apnea monitor
Length Of Stay In NICU: 8 weeks exactly
How Are They Doing Now? It's only been a week, but he's doing great - he changes every day it seems!

Born At What Gestation: 28 weeks
Reason For Premature Birth:My uterus was pushing up against my small intestine and caused it to twist and form a major blockage. I was rushed in to surgery to have part of my intestines removed. In the middle of the surgery Breanna's heart rate dropped and they were forced to take her out as well. It was all one big blurr to me!
Medical Difficulties Preemie Indured:Surgery to repair a PDA, other than that just the normal Legnth Of Stay In NICU:Still there...10 weeks so far
How Are They Doing Now? She is doing great. She is starting to learn how to take her milk through a bottle rather than the feeding tube. She no longer requires oxygen. She is up to 7lbs, 7oz!!

How Are They Doing Now? Great! He's "newborn" size now--6.5lbs.

Actual Birthday: Oct. 17, 2007
Born At What Gestation: 36 weeks exactly
Reason For Premature Birth: no fetal movement and heart rate dropping (not aware of his medical problems until after birth)
Medical Difficulties Preemie Indured: Tracheaesophageal fistula, esophageal atresia, vacterl syndrome, bronchomalacia, hypertension, gastroesophageal reflux, anemia, cylothorax (requiring chest tubes), jaundice, single umbilical artery, functional heart murmur, right simian crease, eczema, torticollis, ischemic stricture to esophagus requiring multiple dilations, requires J. Tube for continuous enternal feedings, multiple blood transfusions, on ventilator for 5 weeks, NG tube for 11 weeks, 19 surgeries and counting.
Length Of Stay In NICU: 12 weeks...and 3 1/2 weeks in PICU
How Are They Doing Now? much better. finally gaining weight and super happy.

Born At What Gestation: 32 weeks, 6 days
Reason For Premature Birth: High blood pressure and IUGR
Medical Difficulties Preemie Indured: small for gestational age, on vent. for 8hours, other than that just growing and learning how to breast/bottle feed
Length Of Stay In NICU: just about 4 weeks
How Are They Doing Now? Just came home 4/22, but so far he is doing very well!

Legnth Of Stay In NICU: It's been 2 weeks so far, but she is in the Special Care Nursery now
How Are They Doing Now? She is doing really good, hopefully she will be home in a few weeks.
