How Are They Doing Now? she is doing great! She had surgery on her eye at 7 months, but that is normal now too!

Reason For Premature Birth: Premature labor due to placenta previa
Medical Difficulties Preemie Indured: weak sucking reflex, dips in blood pressure, jaundice, breathing difficulties
Length Of Stay In NICU: Arianna 3 1/2 weeks, Brianna 2 weeks How Are They Doing Now? Healthwise, Arianna seems to be prone to bronchitis and pneumonia. As far as their developmental milestones, they have been at the lower end of normal.

Reason For Premature Birth: Don't know! Started premature labor at 29 weeks and was put on bedrest.
Medical Difficulties Preemie Indured: All in All did really well. Had a feeding tube and oxygen at birth for alittle while.

How Are They Doing Now? Great! Now that he is home with us.

How Are They Doing Now? He is doing well. He seems to be a little behind b/c he is 7 weeks and not smiling and cooing yet. Insists on sleeping on tummy from NICU stay.

It's been a while sine mine were born but I wish I had this type of support when they were in the NICU.

Reason For Premature Birth: No known reason, partially birthed at home
Medical Difficulties Preemie Indured: Both babies had PDA heart surgeries, and daughter had bowel surgery, appendectomy, BPD, reflux Retinal surgery
Legnth Of Stay In NICU: Son- 70 days, Daughter-80 days
How Are They Doing Now? Son is totally normal and healthy and my daughter is legally blind and has some minor delays in speech. She uses a cane for mobility and reads and writes in braille.

Preemie's Name: Idendical twins: Hannah and Josephine "Sophie"
Due Date: Dec. 22, 2005
Actual Birthday: Oct. 15, 2005
Born At What Gestation: 30 weeks, 2 days
Reason For Premature Birth: Hannah's heart beat was erratic but we were scheduled for a c-section at 34 weeks to reduce possible complications from Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome.
Medical Difficulties Preemie Indured: Sophie was intubated for 1 day and on C-PAP for 3 days. Hannah was on C-PAP for 3 days. They were both tube fed for several weeks. Hannah didn't digest her food one day and was treated with antibiotics for a possible intestional infection. They feared possible NEC but it didn't develop.
Legnth Of Stay In NICU: 6 weeks (2 weeks in NICU in Boston hospital, 4 weeks in Special Care at our local hospital)
How Are They Doing Now? healthy and growing

Actual Birthday: February 17, 2006
Born At What Gestation: 34 wks, 5 days
Reason For Premature Birth: Peyton had IUGR
Medical Difficulties Preemies Indured: On oxygen, feeding tubes, phototherapy and lots of other mysterious IVs and tubes
Legnth Of Stay In NICU: Kailey: 2 weeks. Peyton: 3 wks.
