Talking Better at almost 4 months

It's a breakthrough day. Things are good/easier by a lot! We have all had consistent sleep, we got a real stroller and managed to get out for a walk just for kicks, the only upcoming doctor appointment is just a regular-old check-up with vaccines, my girl is eating up a storm to make up for her slow start (and currently taking a large dump in my lap), I have pumping and breastfeeding down and everyone's on full boobmilk, the boobs have healed, and I have even mastered cloth diapering (not full time, I'm not nuts). What could be better? Next week is my boyfriend's spring break!

So glad to hear it. I'm glad that you got the bfing under control, it does make life easier. Not to scare you but 4 months is when teething started for us and their night sleep went for a crap. But they also started rolling and laughing and their personalities really started to show through. 2 more months and you'll have made it half way to a year without going completely insane!

Yeah, my boy is having a rough go at teething already. It takes a long time for him to knock out and often requires a boob for sleeping with, but once he's out he sleeps 8-10 hours! I wish I had both breastfeeding but my girl just can't so I'm full-time pumping now but I'm able to keep up by boobing the boy full time and not giving him bottles (hardly) ever.

It's true personalities are emerging and I swear my girl is understanding things I say!

I was going to say the same thing. I know how hard it was to bfed these guys and I had experience with DD1. I can honestly say at the 2 week mark I wanted to give up. It was so hard and draining and I didn't have pumping on top of that. I'm so lucky DH was so supportive and helped me keep going and I'm so glad I did. You're awesome for keeping at it. You should be so proud if yourself

You're my hero. My boobs want to quit daily and I've only done it a month! Glad there is light in this long, dark tunnel!

I thought my nipples would die every moment for the first 10 weeks. Every moment. I am not exaggerating. I nearly exclusively pumped for that time, only breastfeeding at the hospital breastfeeding support group or when I felt judged by others. It was 12+ weeks before I didn't dread every single feeding. For me, breastfeeding is the easiest way to shut up a loud baby. There ain't nothing beautiful about it! I'm still dreadful at breastfeeding in public and there's nothing discrete about it the few times I have shown off my destroyed nipples to the world.

Also, it's 3:14 am and I'm pumping and wanting to be in bed instead.

But yeah, even with that attitude, it honestly got faster and easier.

that part gets easier, I promise. With DD1 I covered up all the time, and fighting with her when she was older because she didnt want to be covered up. With these babes, I have lost all inhibitions and just let the ladies out were ever I am and if it makes someone uncomfortable they can move. If Im in a really busy place Ill cover up but they both hate it and want to see whats going on.

Wow I'm a hole-@ss in the middle of the night. Pumping again. I do hope it gets easier to feed in public. I'm just so awkward about it. I missed out on a lot of practice when I was doing so much pumping instead so I still have to cross-cradle with a knee up and elbows and shoulders all over the place. Yesterday we went out to lunch at a sit down restaurant --ok, we were the only customers -- and I had to feed my boy there. The waiter was doing his automated "How's everything?" when he caught onto why I was sitting like that and I just kept right on talking, like what am I going to do, it's a boob and I'm holding it? I also pump in the car whenever my boyfriend is driving us somewhere (because LA sucks and if we're driving somewhere it means I will for sure be away from home for 3+ hours) and that gets awkward for sure. I cover then sorta with a big sweater but I always think people are going to mistake a flange for a concealed weapon. Ok, obviously I'm just bored pumping. Bah. 3 more minutes.

I never did get very good at nursing the twins in public. The singles, no problem. But man... it is so difficult to be discrete with both boobs out and TWO wiggly babies. I think I went to the car every time. Got some looks a few times. Oh well.
