Getting desperate now

A friend of mine (Also a mom of twins) suggested I let Kaylee sleep in her swing since she sleeps so well while in motion. My question is is it ok for her to sleep that long in a swing. I desperately need to piece together a few hrs of sleep (this is karma biting me in the $&@ for saying that they sleep great for twins, I'm so lucky).

Oh we do that all the time. One of us sleeps on the couch next to the swing and puts her in bed if/when she knocks out. Wearing her in a Moby wrap in the evening helps sometimes and so does a pacifier (my son won't touch a pacifier.) Not like I know any more than you about twins or loud non-sleepy daughters though ...

We often did that with Sarafina when necessary. It should be okay. Just make sure the swing is reclined as far back as you can make it go. My DH slept with the girls downstairs with the swings when we had to do that.

You do whatever you have to, and don't give it another thought. If she'll sleep there, let her! Our boys napped in their swing for months and months. I don't actually remember when I started transitioning them to their cribs, but it wasn't a big deal. Do whatever it takes for you to survive!

I second everyone, do whatever you need to. My boys napped in theirs for months and months. It worked, they slept, I had a tiny bit more sanity, who cares. And they transitioned to their cribs for naps later just fine (like 9mo old or later. lol)

Whatever I'm doing seems to be working. Kaylee was sleeping 4 hrs between each feed and Brad is back to sleeping 7-3 And up again between 5-6. They both woke up at 7 happy and well rested. Let's hope this continues. I didn't let her sleep in the swing yet but I think tonight I am going to try it. Maybe just until she wakes the first time and then back in her crib. When the kids are sleeping like crap and I get that stupid comment " I wish I had twins" it makes me want to smack those ppl in the face.

So I give up and decided to just learn to live life with only a few hours of sleep. Kaylee slept ok but Brad Decided he would wake up every 3 hrs How you ladies that have twins and had to return to work manage to function during the day I'll never know. I'm dreading returning to work and I still have 7 months.

What worked for us (even with being on leave) was that I got the night shift until 2 a.m. and DH got the morning shift 2 a.m.+. That gave each of us at least one night time feeding. It helped wonders that DH pitched in as he knew I don't function on minimal sleep. (((((Hugs)))))) Oh, and we used the swing a ton during the night, especially with Tae. It was a godsend!

We also did shifts. I would go to bed earlier and DH would stay up to do the 12AM feed. Then he would go to bed and I would get up and do the 3-4AM feed so he could sleep. We each would then get about 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep which was necessary!! My two weren't the greatest nappers but they STTN pretty early on. Emma was about 2 months and Sean was about 4 months.

I think pigs can fly because they have been sleeping so much better. I suspected Brad sleeping issue was teething but I didn't think he would get teeth until much later simply because DD1 started teething at the same time as B but didn't get a tooth until she was 7 months. But on Saturday I discovered his first tooth popping through and the one beside it about to the same. Last night B went to sleep at 730 woke at 130 and I didn't hear from him again until 7 am. The night before was very similar. The odd thing is that Kaylee is sleeping better as well. She was only up twice. Not sure what changed but maybe B was waking her up. Yay for sleep. I pray it continues. We are planning a trip to our capital for family day weekend and I'm hoping they sleep as well as they have been. I'd hate to get other guest angry with crying babies.
