Default Question for anyone with b/g twins.

When did the twins stop sharing a room. We only have a 3 bedroom house and I know eventually I'll have to put K in the room with DD1 but I was hoping to prolong it as much as possible (she is the one who had the most changes with the twins and I feel bad for her). I dont think this is true but. Coworker told me that it illegal for boys and girls to share rooms after the age of 2. Has anyone ever heard of that? Do you think around 3 is a good time to separate them?

I never heard of it being illegal. So I think it's perfectly fine when they're young. I still remember sharing a room with my brother till we were at least 10 or 11 years old.

I was thinking at about age 8 it would be a good idea to have another bedroom, if possible.

We're going to look at a house tonight with 4 bedrooms *fingers crossed* if it doesn't work out then we'll bunk bed it when the girls are ready. I just don't want to push this on DD1

    Illegal? I don't think so.

I shared a room with my younger brother until I was in the 4th grade. There was never a problem.

My daughter is nearly 7 years old, and still occasionally bathes with her 2 year old brothers.

LOL, no. It is not illegal nor immoral any more than co-sleeping is. I would want to separate them somewhere around the second grade mark or earlier. My brother and I are not twins, but shared a room until I was in 3rd grade (he was younger) without issue. Basically before awkward tween years.

I'd say you will know when they are ready and there is no reason to rush it while they are young if you don't want to.

It's certainly not illegal. I know when my sister was going through a divorce and he was fighting custody children services came in to do a home eval and each sex had to have their own room. But its not an offense - maybe thats what they meant???

Either way mine shared a room up until they were 5 years old and were perfectly happy doing so. We only split them because we bought a 4 bedroom house and had the room. I think by the time they get to school would be an acceptable age.

My twins are both boys but they share a room with their sister. They will share a room for long time. I don't know when I will separate them but it won't be for several years.

In Ontario is used to be illegal for opposite sexes to share a room about age 7. Not sure if it is still the law or not.
