wtf sleep?

So this week was one of the hardest with the babies yet. (I mean obviously excluding the first week because if Meg happens to read this that is by FAR the hardest week ever in existence and it will get better!) In any case, it was so bad I called in a friend for help from hours away and my boyfriend is taking the day off of work tomorrow. But then last night my girl went straight back to sleep after getting up to eat twice -- and she actually ate -- and my boy slept ... wait for it ... get this ... TEN HOURS. Thank you Fisher Price and Duracell.

You know what? I'm gonna say it. Babies are easy. With sleep. I think I'll do a load of laundry. Take that!

I believe there is a growth spurt at about this time. Growth spurts throw everything off. It really does get easier. That I can promise. The babies sleep and you get sleep. It is glorious. Now, the fighting and tantrums...OY! LOL

Quit bragging!!! Just joking, Im so happy someone actually got sleep. My babes were up EVERY hour last, together. I'm going insane. You're so lucky you got help, ppl are too scared to offer to help!!! Probably because they know I'll take it!!!! So, she slept in the swing? I've decided I am going to try this. DH is back on the couch so I can try what I want. And then maybe B will sleep 10 hrs too (you're so lucky)

They both slept in swings and they're still in them. Biggrin

Don't forget, the babies can also nap during tummy time as long as you are there to keep an eye on them. We did that often with the girls. They preferred it, so I often let them nap that way during the day. I folded laundry or read a book while they napped. It was a nice break. At about this age, I also used the Bumbo when I needed to get quick things done. I would take them in the kitchen and put them in the Bumbo with toys. Then, I cleaned a little or I did some quick dishes.

I can't wait til they're sitting somewhat. Unfortunately, we're not at Bumbos yet. My girl is behind developmentally.

I so wish they'd nap on their bellies, too! So far tummy time is just a scream fest. Working on that.

Lol I'm following your lead...first officially night Kaylee sleeping in the swing. She didn't seem to upset about being in there. As for bumbo chairs, love them and so do the babes. We couldn't use them for DD1 because by the time she was old enough to use them her legs were to chubby and she could fit!!!

I must say, the swings were a God send in getting Tae to sleep at that age. Had to have her tightly wrapped as well. We cheated and got ones that plugged in so we didn't have to worry about the batteries running out. I must ask though... why four swings? I'm so curious now!

Ok, so first off, last night's sleep was EVEN MORE AWESOME! I got 5 solid hours (on the couch in front of the swings), then we all got up to feed and within the hour were back asleep (I got the bed this time -- woohoo! -- and my boyfriend got the couch), and then we all slept another 4 solid hours!!!!!!!!! The babies have (for now, I recognize this will all go to poop again soon) a midnight to noon sleepytime. Yay!

Someone in our twins group gave us two used swings, the Fisher Price Lamb swing that everyone seems to have and another supposedly fancier one that the babies don't love. It was just our backup swing. Well, the good one died last month so I popped on Craigslist and found two for sale totally randomly from another twin mom not in our twin group, so we bought them both the next day. So now we have two good swings, one that's just OK, and one dead one.

swings are a must. Smile Loved that they got sleep for us. I seriously think W napped in his swing until he was 9mo. And we did not even take it out of their room until there was not any room once the toddler beds were set up. which means they were two. They loved the swing and if it were up would still climb in there and swing themselves. Smile
