Thread: 1 outdoor shot for CC

Here is one shot from the brief outdoor session I did with Eva on Christmas-shoot day. Please CC if you wish, especially my processing... Thanks! (I do know the hands are chopped off unfortunately that was in-camera)

Oh man, she's just too stinkin cute! The more I see of her the more I want to see of her!!!!

What type of processing did you do on it?

I think its adorable, as far as processing, it looks like you went a little heavy on the blacks, and contrast. It is looking kind of harsh for my taste. I don't really mind the hand chop, and with your own kid, it cab be pretty much impossible to avoid!

OK thanks! Now that I look at it more, I agree it's a bit strong. I'm going to redo it and back off a bit.
Tara, first I did a curves layer on her face & hair because it was a tad dark/dull, then toned down the color just a tad, and then I tried out a "frosty" action that was featured at Flickr, but I only set it to about 40%.

Here's the photo without the "frosty"....just the curves layer done on her face & hair...does this look ok?

I do like the 2nd edit much better! I agree, it was a tad bit too much. But, that is just my opinion, and if you like it, GO FOR IT!

I see what you were going for with the frosty action and I kind of like the vintage-like feel it gives, but I agree that it is a bit harsh. Of course since I don't know how to PP I can't offer any advice on how to tone it down!

And about the hand chop - some of my favorites of my son are crazy looking because of hand chops, but they are some of my faves

Maybe mask HER back in after you do it. I like it on the background, just not her and her jacket. Does that make sense?

Thanks! YES I was going to say earlier that I like the way it makes the background look, so yes maybe I'll do just that

I didn't mind the first edit. the only thing that jumped out at me was her eyes seemed a little over done. the whites are too white and seem flat instead of lumionous.
