#2, the background looks a little blueish to me..is it supposed to be white?
Also, I'm not digging the conversion on #3...but I rarely see a bw conversion with a white background that I DO like! For some reason, the skin just looks muddy to me. Honestly, though..take that with a grain of salt..
Otherwise, poses are wonderful, and I just wanna pinch his cheeks!
The blanket is a very light blue...so, not supposed to be white I can redo the BW one and check my screen @ home. It didn't look muddy to me when I had done it, but it doesn't hurt to recheck.
I was just going to say that #3 is my favorite! The b&w conversion looks REALLY GOOD. it's not super high contrast, but I don't think that works well with newborns. This conversion has enough contrast to keep everything/everyone well defined, but not so much that it is harsh. In fact, it has a very soft feel to it over all that I really like with your newborn images.
I hope we get to see a lot more newborns from you as I think you have a real knack for it.
#1 Such a cute shot, but I'm wondering where dad's arm went? It almost fades out?
#2 I think you should bring some blues back if it is meant to be blue, or just take it out, and make it look white. It does look like a mistake to me. Probably only photographers would notice that though. I also don't love the way the hat is standing up, and cut off, but that is just personal taste.
#3 looks good to me, except the crop is too tight. You've got an elbow chop, and there is almost no space above the head.
Very nice job over all! How are you getting your hands on all these newborns!!! (jealous!)
I think the new edit looks a little grey? I tried to add some color using a color balance layer. Added some blue, cyan, and a touch of green. I don't know if it's any better? Let me know if you want me to take it down
eta: it actually looks a lot better when its not against this blueish background. When I pulled your original post into ps, it looked pretty good
I think I like it darker, like your edit, because then you really know it's supposed to be blue, and it's not just a blue-cast. I need to also look at it on my PC monitor and not just this laptop though.
Thanks guys...I don't see any grey personally on my home monitor, but i wasn't happy with the tone of baby's skin either so I may have to go back to the drawing board with that part. You can leave the play up, i dont mind
