2 for C/C

I was at a birthday party and took a picture of my daughter eating ice cream Smile and one of Brandon's niece on the swing. Is there too much contrast? Thanks guys!

First one, totally OOF. Couldn't save it with the sharpening.

2nd one, don't like the light here at all. Looks like you used flash?

I think the contrast works ok on the first one. I like her eyes and the moment you caught her in.

The second one, the contrast doesn't work for me. It feels flashy. Did you use your flash?

I have to agree that the first one is really OOF and the 2nd one looks flashy. As far as the b/w tones by themselves they look ok to me.

I dont really love the conversions, its makin the skin tones look too dark and muddy. but that may be because I prefer brighter airy bw's.

I like the eyes in the first one, but I agree it's totally OOF.

I'm not sure I like the 2nd the coloring looks off to me. I don't know enough to know what it's from though.
