Or rather PPI (pixels per inch).
Question. Whenever I upload pictures and open them in Photoshop even if they are coming from a raw file...it is always in 240 dpi. And I keep reading that 300 dpi is better for printing. But how can I change this? I noticed this awhile back but just shrugged and forgot about it. But now I'm wondering if it really makes a big difference? And if I change it in PS from 240 to 300 will that work? Or do I do it some other way? Are all of you saving in 300 dpi? I haven't been lately. I haven't really printed anything bigger than a 4x6 though so far. How do I change this? Or is it really necessary? And why does PS do this if 300 is better? hmm...
eta: ok well i figured out how to change it to 300 dpi but now my question is...is it really necessary? are my files going to be bigger now that I did that? i guess if i ever want to go into business it will be best to save at 300 dpi right?
I have so many threads from that site bookmarked. They're really helpful, along with the search feature on there.
I also have a ton bookmarked ... it's crazy! That's why I can't post there, it's too overwhelming!
