This is my second time doing a NB. This little guy slept for me the WHOLE TIME i was there. I was relieved. I didn't get alot of variety in my poses as the mother was hesitant to let me handle him even though she's a friend of mine but whatever...she's a first time mom so i didnt worry too much about it. here are 2 for cc. I want to make sure i'm on the right track before i go on with the others. I have a set of twins coming up at the end of June!! TIA
used:28-75mm, bounce flash
1.f/3.5, 1/125, iso 800 (very dreary day)
I left the newborn flakiness...should i remove that?? i hear so many different opinions that i'm not sure
2. f/3.2, 1/100, iso 800
skin too red?? my first attempt had him looking too grey

Good job. Twins coming up?! GL to you!!
1 - I'm all about making baby look natural and just what he was when born, but I'm not a huge fan of flaky newborn. But, that's just my opinion...
2 - Not calibrated, but he does look red to me. Wishing his hands were a bit more folded/placed, though.
Thanks Jennifer for the cc...i'll take the flakes away. the more i look at it, the more it starts to bother me![]()
I'd remove the newborn flakes for sure. Love the sleeping face on the first, it made my heart sigh. the second one looks a tad underexposed, actually. brighten him up some and see if the skin tones look better.
can't wait to see more!
I agree.. brighten him up a tad with a curves and add some contrast (either with a contrast layer or with a levels layer and play with the left and the middle slider). I think both of these would make fabulous b&w's too! I always like b&w's with newborns b/c it kinda hides the red skin tone issue or yellow if they are a bit jaundice. Newborn skin is hard but you are off to a great start.. Mom will love these! Makes me anxious to meet the little one squirming around in my belly now!just a few more weeks to go and hopefully I'll have some of my OWN newborn to share.
