3 for CC please (EDITS ADDED)

I took Ruthie out for a quick little photoshoot in our front yard. I want you ladies to hit me up. I need to improve. I always feel like winter sets me wayyyyy back! All have same settings except for maybe changing the SS a tiny bit. f/3.2, ISO-640, 1/4000 1. I love these! I am so jealous you all are getting some green and some flowers!! It is so brown out here still. Smile

#1 I like the mood here and her expression is cute! It seems little bit under exposed to me.
#2 This is my favorite! Her expression is so sweet and adorable and the lighting looks awesome. Love the bright colors! So cute!
#3 For me, her hands and feet look uncomfortable in this on and I wish her eyes were a little more open. I know you can't control that but just my first thought.

So cute though!!! Smile

I agree with you on #1- I didn't realize it until I saw #1 & #2 side by side. I need to fix that. THANKS!
As for #3- I am thinking it's just mommy googles, but it was just a sweet little smile! She kept moving her feet really weird and it was hard to explain to her! LOL!

On my phone, so just one little observation for now. The horizon looks slightly crooked to me. It could be the small sample I'm seeing right now, though.

I love these, especially #2. Love the location, the exposure, and the expression is so great there, she looks so adorable. (I seriously do NOT know how you get her to pose like this, though. Nora is a great listener and a good kid, but she does not sit still long enough to do this kind of thing.)

My only CC really is that I wish her head were a little more to the left in the frame, with a little more space to the right of her feet. If you had her face on one of the "thirds" lines, I think it'd be stronger overall.

I think you already got some good advice, those are wonderful pictures.

My favorite would be #2. I agree with the horizon being tilted to CR. I would tone down the brightness on her feet, on all of them. I would also clone out that spot on the background - not sure what that is - its at CR. If you can somehow clone down the tree so that the break/horizon is not going thru her head, I think you have a keeper Smile

Okay, I'm on the laptop now. I'm noticing that she's looking a little bright in #2 and #3. Agreed that her head is a little centered in the frame. It's not a huge dealbreaker in these because the background is so soft, but the horizon is going through her head. I would try shooting down on her slightly or all the way on the ground almost shooting through the flowers to avoid some awkward horizons.

I really love #2 Smile Definitely my favorite!!

I like #2! Really cute. But I actually like the slightly more vibrant colors of #1 better. I agree with Tracy's cc. And my only other comment is that #3 looks more washed out than the other two.

Ok, on my phone they don't look nearly as bright. I'll have to look on the calibrated monitor to see for real...

Oh Sadie! I just LOVE these (you knew I would, right?!)!

The centered crops don't bother me, but perhaps a slightly tighter crop would help.

I like Steph's idea of shooting down more.

Anyway you put it though, these are such great spring shots! I love how relaxed and natural Ruthie is in each image. I can almost feel the warm spring breeze when I look at these. Biggrin

TFS, Sadie! I can't wait to see more!

Sadie, these are so cute. My fav is def #1. I love her expression here. So peaceful. It is NOT underexposed...don't touch that dial! The other two are a bit too bright. I totally agree that the feet are too bright on all of them.

Thanks so much ladies! I will tone down the feet and the washed out looks on #3. Amber- I too think #1 might be my fave- it's the peaceful look that gets me!

The spot on #1 & 2 I think is a horse! LOL! I need to clone it out. As for the horizon- our yard was sloping there to the right, so I need to fix that. I shot at so many different angels. On these, I was on the ground shooting. There were some I did different. Maybe I will share those a bit later.

Nice job on the new comps! On new #1, the foot looks a little blotchy. Could you try using a paintbrush to tone it down a bit instead of burning? If that's what you did Wink I like the exposure on the old #2 and #3 better than the new exposure. On my laptop, I bet the edit would look better, but on the calibrated screen, the old exposure was spot on. I'd just go back and tone it down on the feet instead of on the whole image.

Nice job on the cloning! I'd like to see the bright green patch gone as well as the horse. It looks great in #2!

Sadie, I am late to this but I am SO glad to see you got your camera out! Great shots just wanted to add that I really like # 3. It looks more lifestyle to me like she is just being a kid laughing to herself and you caught it. Great job:)
