3 Newborn pics for CC please

I did my first ever newborn shoot ever a couple of weeks ago. I just now got to get on here and post them. Any CC will be welcomed! Thanks! All these were taking with my 50mm lens. They have been edited with my camera software.

I think you did a good job for your first time! I still haven't gotten the opportunity to shoot a new born.

1. Not digging the crop here. Also, it looks like the light is coming from her feet, giving some shadows on her face.
2. Her shirt seems bunched around her neck, wish it had been pulled down a bit more so it didn't look so uncomfortable. Also the bottom left hand corner you might want to clone the blanket or something.
3. Very cute, but it could use some brightening.

What a sweet baby! I really wish she wasn't in the huge bow and busy clothing (sometimes simple is much better.) All of these are a little dark, magenta and contrasty to me... but specifically...
#1 I would try a much tighter crop (just under her elbow)
#2 Can you clone in more blanket on the bottom left
#3 I think this is the better of the 3, still could be lightened up a bit, but nice

I think the parents will love them and I think playing with some black and whites on the first two would tone them done a little. Good job!

OH LUCKY YOU! Look at that beautiful girl!

1. I agree w/ pp that a tighter crop would be really nice here.

2. this is very sweet and is probably my favorite of the bunch. I love how her hands are on her tummy. She just looks perfectly content, ya know.

3. this is alos really sweet and I know mom and dad will love it, but she looks just a tad under exposed here.

on all of these, she looks a little red. but I'm at work and that may be my monitor, so I hesitate to bring it up.

I would really love to see #2 in a b&w conversion. like I said ... that one is my favorite.

TFS!

Thanks, I was kind or rushed when I did these pics. The grandfather was there and kept saying that we didn't need to be taking pics of the baby and let her sleep. they are going to get me to do some 6 week pics and we are going to make sure the grandfather isn't there next time!!! I will work on these some more.

I would have been annoyed by the grandfather!

I'm really bad with technical stuff, but I would have to say that my favorite out of the 3 is the third one. I like how she's laying, and how she has a bit of a smirk Smile

your shutter speed is low on all of these ... could you open your ap more or was f/4 as low as you could go? she's definitely dark, so I'd brighten her up some. also seeing way too much red in her skin. I'm loving the second one best. and that's so frustrating about the grandfather!

I could have probably. I was just so rushed b/c of the grandfather. I will try that next time.
