I bought some Lilyblue actions, which I'm REALLY excited about! Do you use them in ACR or Lightroom? I was fooling around with it in ACR and wasn't sure how to fiddle around with it. As in, I wanted the action but to a lower opacity. Is there a way to change that? Or do I just have to fiddle with all the options and sliders to the right until I get what I like? I just wish there was an easy way to keep it but just at a lower opacity and couldn't figure it out, but I'm not too familiar with ACR yet.
As far as I know (& on this subject, I'm pretty limited), actions are for photoshop/PSE. You use 'presets' in ACR & (I think) Lightroom. I've never used LR, so I'm not certain what you use there.
Ok.. so does anyone know much about presets? Can anyone explain them to me? Do you just basically use them as a starting place for editing on a picture and then open them in PS to further edit them if needed? I just might go and buy the actions too now since I messed up. This is seriously how my week is going..
For me, be it presets or actions, i run them AFTER i've done my own pp on an image--curves layer, skin correction, noiseware, etc. then when i'm happy with that, if I want to i'll run an action on it. I think they're just to enhance a photo. Lilyblue has some great ones!
Those presets should work in both acr and lightroom. If you still need loading help there are instructions here http://prettypresets.com/how-to-install-presets/ The few times i've used presets, I ran them after I had my exposure and WB where I wanted it, same as I do with actions
