My dear friend is pregnant with their second child! She is due in 5 weeks, but will more likely have the baby in 2-3 weeks. She had a liver transplant about 7 years ago, so she's high risk. She already asked me to do newborn photos. YEAH! Just today she asked me to capture a few of her and their almost 3 yo daughter as a way to remember her last pregnancy. She knows that I am just learning, so I know that they aren't expecting much. Any tips on maternity and newborn photos? Their will be NO bare belly pics, with all of the scares from multiple surgeries I'm sure she won't want to show those. The maternity pics will probably be this weekend, so not much time to get ready.
Thanks!
Here's a posing guide I find helpful. Obviously, these are lots of bare skin, but the poses can be for either. Good luck!

I'm so sorry, I wish I had suggestions for youBut, what a great opportunity and such a strong woman!!
I'm sure you'll do fine! Have fun with it!
For inspiration, I'll usually go to both flickr and google images and then do a search on my topic of choice (maternity portrait, in this case).
HTH.
And remember, just have FUN!
Best,

I agree with Gigi.
google first then flickr
I would still try to encourage a bare belly pic. The scars are part of who she is and always will be. Even if she never shows anyone.
Other suggestions is either go outside for the pics near some pretty trees or if inside make sure you are in front of an uncluttered background or plain backdrop.
Can't wait to see the results.
Thanks Ladies! I now have a little more time to get some ideas. Two kids in the girls daycare class were sick. One with strep and the other with the flu. So we decided not to expose my friend to any germs we may have this weekend. Luckily so far we are all healthy, so we plan on doing the maternity photos on Sunday. I will be SURE to post some.
